The Pest Control worker will work under the direct supervision of the Pest Control Supervisor.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Sprays chemical solutions or toxic gases and sets mechanical traps to kill pests that infest buildings and surrounding areas. Fumigates rooms and buildings, using toxic gases. Sprays chemical solutions or dusts powders in rooms and work areas. Places poisonous paste or bait and mechanical traps where pests are present. May clean areas that harbor pests, using rakes, brooms, shovels, and mops prepatory to fumigating. Reviews work orders, surveys, or pre-planned treatment schedules and determines appropriate Pest Control measures. Following established policies and regulatory requirements, schedule as a preventive measure. Periodical trouble-shooting inspections of buildings and grounds, considering size and type of environment, e.g. housing areas, billeting, offices, food service areas, storage areas, and warehouses to detect potential infestation. Coordinates action with activity concerned, Facility Engineers and DPW Pest Management Coordinator and if necessary, Preventive Medicine personnel. As a State of Oklahoma, Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry, Certified Pesticide Applicator supervises or personally selects and uses EPA restricted use pesticide approved by Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry for use in the State of Oklahoma. Based on thorough knowledge of pest species and handling of pesticides, answer emergency calls or answer questions on practical aspects of pest control measures, such as investigations of accidents occurred due to improper use of pesticides. Consults technical handbooks or obtains guidance from DPW Pest Management Coordinator and MACOM Pest Management Consultant. Keeps up-to-date with the latest regulatory guidance on Pest Control measures. Prepares and submits updates for Pest Management Plan. Keeps detailed records of inspections conducted on each building and type and amount of pesticide sprayed or disposed of. Daily records work accomplishment and forwards completed work orders and service orders through Service Order department to DPW for appropriate action.
