    FLSA Status: Full-time, Non-exempt

     

    Position Overview:

    Provides support to the Cohen Clinic as the first contact for services. The Intake Coordinator will conduct telephone and face to face intake screens on-site, via telehealth, and off-site (if applicable) for veterans, military, and their families. The Intake Coordinator will work with a multi-disciplinary team for case assignments, consultations, and care coordination.

     

    Responsibilities:

    Conduct initial intakes with veterans and /or family members. Coordinate case assignment with Cohen Clinic multi-disciplinary team. Document detailed intakes on the electronic health records (EHR) system; maintain comprehensive client referral tracking system. Prepare reports as requested by Clinic Director and Lead Clinician.Provide services in-person and/or via telehealth platform, as required.Meet regularly with Lead Clinician or Clinic Director to coordinate case assignments, and Case Manager for client activities within clinic community room and at events, report referral to admission conversion rate; Provide ongoing program evaluation and recommendations to the Clinic Director and Lead Clinician for continuous growth and quality.Knowledge of local community resources and provide warm hand-offs for veterans and families needing external referrals.Carry caseload of 5-10 clients or based on clinic needs.Company DescriptionSince 1981, Veterans Village of San Diego (VVSD), a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, has been dedicated to serving homeless veterans, their families, and those at risk of homelessness.     Job Summary

    The Staff Accountant assists the Controller and CFO in managing the organization’s financial accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, grant cost and allocation accounting, payroll oversight, and audit support. This role ensures compliance with organizational accounting policies, grant requirements, and applicable federal and state regulations.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    Financial Accounting & Reporting

    Perform month-end close activities, including preparation and review of financial statements prior to grant and fund billingPrepare monthly journal entries, general ledger reconciliations, balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statementsReconcile general bank accounts and payroll bank accounts on a monthly basisMaintain and reconcile monthly general ledger accounts with a high degree of accuracy

    Grant & Fund Accounting

    Assist Controller/CFO with development and monitoring of grant and program budgetsTrack, verify, and ensure grant and fund billings are accurate and submitted by required deadlinesPrepare management reports and fund status updates to support grant billing and financial decision-making

    Payroll Oversight

    Accounts Payable

    Qualifications

    Education & Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related fieldMinimum of three (3) years of accounting experience; nonprofit accounting experience preferredCoursework or practical experience in accounting principles and bookkeeping

    Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and OutlookExperience with MIP Cloud and other accounting software preferredAbility to use a ten-key calculator by touch

    Job Summary

    The Controller is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department for a nonprofit organization. This position provides leadership and supervision to finance and accounting staff and ensures the organization’s financial activities are accurate, timely, compliant, and aligned with generally accepted accounting principles, grant requirements, contract requirements, and internal policies.

    The Controller is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving the Finance Department’s daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial processes with minimal supervision. This includes oversight of accounts payable, payroll review, budgeting, grant and contract compliance, financial reporting, cost allocation, audit preparation, fund accounting, accounting systems, purchasing cards, and finance policies and procedures.

    This position plays a critical role in ensuring strong internal controls, accurate financial reporting, timely reconciliations, compliance with federal, state, local, and funder requirements, and the effective management of restricted and unrestricted funding sources. The Controller works closely with leadership, program staff, fiscal monitors, grantors, and external auditors to support financial transparency, audit readiness, and organizational accountability.


    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    The essential duties and responsibilities of the Controller include, but are not limited to, the following:

    The Lead Case Manager provides comprehensive, housing-focused case management for participants in transitional housing programs, including full assessments of physical, mental, and social needs. This role ensures that participants receive appropriate services aligned with their individualized service plans and that all actions comply with Grants Per Diem (GPD) Program guidelines. The Lead Case Manager also provides leadership to program staff, supports quality assurance, coordinates services, and ensures participant progress toward housing stability.


    Duties and Responsibilities

    Case Management & Participant Support

    Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of participant needs, including housing, income, benefits eligibility, education, life skills, employment, and wellness.Develop individualized housing stability plans using a progressive assistance approach, leveraging each participant’s strengths, and identifying barriers.Conduct regular meetings with participants, review case files weekly, and monitor progress toward goals.Provide crisis intervention and immediate support when necessary.Explain GPD, VA, and community services to participants and establish realistic milestones for stability.Coordinate supportive services within the agency and link participants to public benefits and community resources (e.g., medical, mental health, legal, social services, veterans’ benefits).Maintain accurate, complete, and timely participant records in accordance with agency standards and best practices.Ensure all required documentation is properly maintained in HMIS and Welligent.


    Program Leadership & Team Support

    Work with the Program Manager to hire, train, manage, and evaluate case management staff.Oversee program and contractual outcomes, including planning, workload distribution, and meeting performance benchmarks.Ensure program quality assurance through data tracking, reporting, and file audits.Provide daily support, guidance, and mentorship to case managers, promoting collaboration and a positive team dynamic.Develop and facilitate program trainings and workshops for both clients and staff.


    Administrative & Agency Responsibilities
