Seeking a Fuel Distribution System Operator / Heavy Truck Driver (FDSO) in support of Camp Lejeune/DLA-Energy contracted fuel services.
What You’ll Do:
Under the daily supervision of the Lead with assistance as needed from the Terminal Manager, the Fuel Distribution System Operator / Heavy Truck Driver (FDSO) is responsible for safe and timely set-up, monitoring and transfer of fuel movements during a specific shift assignment. This role ensures through definitive methods that product meets or exceeds quality standards set forth; ensure all work is completed in a timely manner, contributing to a safe and efficient operation.
Perform receipt, issue, storage, spill cleanup, maintenance scheduling, hazardous waste, and fuel quality assurance operationsPerform the full spectrum of quality assurance sampling and testing as may be required, to include weekend and holiday fuel support to meet MIL-STD- 3004 and ASTM D-1655, latest revisionSample petroleum handling equipment and systems by various methods and means, from receipt to product issuePerform operation, maintenance, and calibration of lab equipment, recordkeeping, and lab safety proceduresInspect, evaluate condition of, and maintain fuel storage tanks, pipelines, piping systems, product pump, filter, meter, gauge, and flow control mechanisms, and other petroleum system componentsDetect system malfunction/misalignment/leaks/adjustment issues, and perform scheduled and unscheduled system maintenanceRemove, repair, and replace system componentsComplete all assignments directed by Management in a safe, efficient and timely manner as required by Company rules and regulations and all Federal, State and local laws.Properly loads and unload refueler trucks with correct productCommunicate and coordinate with dispatcher personnelInteract with customers and relay specific requestsSafely perform retail and bulk fuel deliveriesComplete the proper documentation of deliveries Inspect vehicles before and after every trip and report any issuesSkillfully connect/disconnect hoses, operate pumps/valves for safe loading and offloadingPerform operation, maintenance, and calibration of refueler trucks and onboard equipmentFollow all DOT regulations; especially those pertaining to transport hazardous materialsPerforms the operation, maintenance, and calibration of refueler trucks and onboard equipmentIndividuals may perform other duties assigned, notwithstanding work in other functional areas to cover absences and relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload.What You’ll Bring:
Must possess and maintain an active and valid driver's license without restrictions and compliance with Versar’s vehicle policy.Possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with HAZMAT and Tanker endorsementsHave knowledge and practical experience of refueler truck operations.Have knowledge of DOT regulations, driver safety regulations and applicable driving laws.Have a safe driving history with no major violations in the past 5 yearsHave practical experience in operation of bulk fuel distribution systems and pipeline operationsExperienced in use of common fuel sampling equipment, aviation and ground fuel sampling procedures, and conducting laboratory tests of petroleum productsTrained in applicable regulations regarding petroleum handling equipment and systemsHave a knowledge of automated tank gauging systems, high/low level alarms, and cathodic protection systemsProficiency of the English language both written and verbalMust be able to effectively communicate with managers and coworkers in EnglishMust be able to pass the required background checks for the position through the military and civilian systems. Versar Global Solutions is currently looking for a Part-Time On-Call Fuel Truck Driver / System Operator (DSO) to fill a position at our location in Naval Air Station (NAS) Fallon, NV. This position will be Temporary.
What You’ll Do:
DSOs shall be qualified to perform fuel servicing operations (refuel/defuel) by mobile fuel servicing equipment/trucks, portable pantograph, hose sets, and fixed direct fuel servicing systems (hydrants). Drivers shall be trained in the appropriate use of radio procedures. DSOs shall pass a Contractor-administered base and flight-line familiarization test, practical equipment/facility competency tests, and shall be certified, by the Contractor, as qualified and the individual’s training records updated prior to the unsupervised operation of any fuel servicing equipment.
What You’ll Bring:
Must have a Class A CDL, with Tanker & Hazmat endorsements.Must be able to obtain/maintain all security requirements to work on contract to include but not limited to: Criminal background check, Police Report, U.S. Government background investigation and applicable base access requirements.DSOs should have a minimum of two (2) years of documented experience and be qualified to perform fuel servicing operations (refuel/defuel services) using mobile fuel servicing trucks.DSOs shall pass a base and flight-line familiarization test, a practical equipment/facility competency test, and shall be certified as qualified.DOT physical and random drug/alcohol testing requirements, physically capable of performing all duties including climbing on tank trucks to perform checks and visual inspections and lift up to 75 lbs.Should have basic mechanical knowledge (Change tire, check/add Oil etc.)Must be able to physically maneuver a 50-foot fuel hose and nozzle weighing 60 pounds to connect and refill fuel trucks and Aircraft. Must be able to lift and pull 50' hose with 2" nozzle and be able to lift overheadUnderstands and abides by the standards set forth for ethical behavior and integrity as detailed in the Code of Business Conduct.Must be a US Citizen and be able to pass the required background checks for the position through the military and civilian systems.Must be able to obtain a US government Common Access Card (CAC).Must be able to work flexible work hours/days (including Holidays) as needed to meet schedule.Performs all other duties prescribed by management.All drivers must possess a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Tanker and Hazmat endorsement, and it shall be/remain in compliance with all such requirements for the duration of their employment.All drivers shall possess a current/valid driver's license.
