    Job DescriptionJob DescriptionA boutique NYC architectural & interior design practice seeks a self-motivated, creative INTERMEDIATE INTERIOR ARCHITECT. The successful candidate will have a history of 5 years min. experience preferably related to high-end corporate interiors.

    INTERMEDIATE DESIGNER

    We are looking for creative thinkers who are well organized with a positive teamwork mentality. This candidate must understand the importance of working well with others in every aspect of the design process. Candidates will be working intimately with Principals of the company and other members of the design and architectural team to plan, design, prepare construction sets & client presentation materials that meet the aesthetic of each unique project requirements. Skills required in CAD, Adobe Suite, Bluebeam, Sketchup and Revit a bonus. Duties also include schematic design, construction documentation, construction administration and preparation of presentation materials for in-house and on-site meetings. A strong sense of design aesthetic, with a willingness to present and be receptive to client’s feedback is ideal for our office culture. 

    Essential Duties and Qualifications:

    Working with the firm Principals and other members of the design team to plan, design, prepare design documents & client presentation materials that meet the aesthetic of each unique project’s requirementsThorough knowledge of preparation of Construction DocumentsBasic knowledge of ADA and Building CodesSite survey Knowledge of project management principles, practices, and techniques.Understanding of finishes and applications.Resourceful and ability and willingness to find creative solutionsTo Join Us, Candidate Will Have

    Min. 5 years of related professional experience preferably related to corporate interiorsCollaborative and professional work ethic and outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to successfully communicate with architects, Clients, vendors, and fellow team membersStrong sense of design aesthetic, with a willingness to present and be receptive to team and client feedbackMust have strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to effectively meet deadlinesKnowledge and understanding of design, trends, material application, and manufacturer-supplier appropriateness.Interested candidates should forward their resume to info@varch.com.     Boutique NYC Architectural and Interior Design Firm specializing in corporate / workplace interiors seeking senior level architect / designer to join our team

    Candidates should have a professional degree in architecture from an accredited program and 10 years experience in commercial design, exhibit strong design and organizational skills, and be able to contribute to a fast-paced, creative office. 

     PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    Project Lead / Project Manager for all phases (schematic design through construction administration) of small, medium, and large-scale corporate projects;Coordinating with clients, consultants, and design principalsDesign and presentation drawings;Construction detailing and drawings;Construction observation and administration;Manage and oversee junior architects and designersADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    Knowledge of workplace strategiesKnowledge of IBC Building Codes | ADA Prepare and review of construction documents Lead & Manage Junior Architects Space Planning / Test Fitting Coordination of permit process Construction administration, including meeting with contractors, clients, consultants, etcFile and track all incoming documentation from other consultantsQUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor’s degree in Architecture; 10 + years of experience in commercial architectureRegistered Architect a plus however not requiredDemonstrated knowledge of the design process, products, materials and construction detailsKnowledge of project constructability, project costs, and building code requirements Proficiency in AutoCAD , Adobe Photoshop & Indesign, and SketchUp and/or RevitLocated in New York City, and ability to travel outside of the New York area on a regular basis APPLICATION:
