    Job DescriptionJob DescriptionVDC Project Manager This position is based in the greater Tampa area.  Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced VDC Project Manager to join our growing team. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines advanced LiDAR scanning expertise with project management, client coordination, Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) leadership, and team oversight. The VDC Project Manager serves as both a technical contributor and project leader, actively performing reality capture field work while managing projects from kickoff through final delivery. As the lead for the Reality Capture team, this position is responsible for coordinating and training Reality Capture Technicians, planning and executing field operations, managing project schedules and deliverables, and serving as the primary point of contact for assigned clients. The VDC Project Manager will ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with VectorNet's quality standards. In addition to project management responsibilities, this role will perform on-site reality capture services using terrestrial, mobile, and aerial LiDAR systems; establish survey control by tying scans into state plane coordinate systems; register and process point cloud data; and support the development of accurate CAD and BIM deliverables. This position is responsible for ensuring all field data is complete, accurate, and well-documented, maintaining company equipment, coordinating field logistics, and providing technical leadership to the Reality Capture team throughout every phase of project execution. This position requires regional and national travel up to 50-75% of the time and includes a 90-day onboarding program. Reality Capture & Field OperationsLead and execute terrestrial and mobile reality capture projects Develop field execution plans, scanning strategies, and logistics to ensure efficient and complete data acquisition. Serve as the technical lead during field operations while directing and mentoring Reality Capture Technicians. Establish temporary survey control by tying scans into state plane coordinate systems and other project-specific coordinate systems. Perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) in the field to verify data completeness and accuracy prior to leaving project sites. Process, register, and align point cloud datasets using software including Autodesk ReCap, RIEGL RiSCAN Pro, Leica Cyclone, and similar platforms. Coordinate field data integration into AutoCAD, Revit, and other BIM deliverables. Maintain reality capture equipment and ensure proper transportation, calibration, and storage. Follow and enforce company safety procedures, field documentation standards, and data security protocols. Physical requirements include carrying and lifting up to 60 pounds for elevated scanning applications, climbing ladders, walking uneven terrain, crawling, bending, reaching, standing for extended periods, and safely operating field equipment. Virtual Design & Construction (VDC) & Digital DeliverablesConvert point cloud data into accurate existing conditions documentation while maintaining VectorNet quality standards. Review CAD and BIM deliverables prior to client submission to ensure accuracy and completeness. Coordinate model revisions throughout the project lifecycle. Collaborate with internal and external teams to ensure deliverables align with project scope, schedule, and client expectations. Manage multiple VDC and Reality Capture projects from kickoff through final delivery.Project Management & Client Coordination Develop project schedules, staffing plans, and execution strategies. Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients. Lead project kickoff meetings, coordination meetings, and project status updates. Coordinate field activities, subcontractors, and project resources. Maintain organized project documentation including schedules, field reports, scan data, and deliverables. Manage project risks, resolve technical challenges, and communicate project status with internal and external teams and clients. Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and exceed client expectations. Leadership & Team DevelopmentLead, train, and develop Reality Capture Technicians and junior team members. Provide technical guidance during field operations and office production. Review field data and deliverables for quality assurance. Assist with onboarding and training new employees. Develop and improve company workflows, standard operating procedures, and best practices. Foster a collaborative, safety-focused, and client-centered team culture. Required QualificationsMinimum 3+ years of experience in LiDAR scanning, Reality Capture, Virtual Design & Construction (VDC), BIM, or related fields. Demonstrated experience managing technical projects from planning through completion. Experience leading field crews and mentoring technical staff. Experience serving as the primary point of contact for clients. Experience operating terrestrial, mobile, and/or aerial LiDAR systems. Experience with Autodesk ReCap, RIEGL RiSCAN Pro, Leica Cyclone, or comparable point cloud processing software. Working knowledge of AutoCAD and BIM workflows. Strong understanding of surveying principles, coordinate systems, and construction documentation. Willingness to travel up to 50%-75% as required. Valid driver's license. Fluent in English LanguagePreferred QualificationsExperience with Autodesk Revit. Experience with NavVis VLX, RIEGL, Leica, FARO, or similar reality capture systems. Experience in industrial, manufacturing, aviation, healthcare, government, or commercial facilities. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent project management experience. Experience with Digital Twin development and construction verification. General RequirementsHigh School Diploma required; This role includes a 90-day onboarding program, after which the technician is expected to conduct site visits independently.  

    Applicants must have 2 years of experience of LiDAR scanning in settings such as heavy industrial, construction, and retail. The ideal candidate has general knowledge of surveying practices, CAD/BIM workflows, along with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn advanced scanning methods.
