    Job Summary:

    Supports the licensed healthcare team in performing office examinations and procedures by organizing and managing clinic patient flow, gathering and documenting patient screening data, assist with patient and family education and communication with patient's health care team.

    We are looking to add a medical assistant to our Pulmonary clinic team at The Vanderbilt Clinic. We see a variety of patients in the clinic including patient populations such as Lung Transplant, Thoracic Surgery, Interventional Pulm, Pulmonary Hypertension, Cystic Fibrosis, and others. Medical assistants in this clinic contribute to the team by means of ensuring efficient clinic flow (rooming patients to see the providers), performing EKGs, giving vaccines, assisting in our procedure room during thoracentesis procedures, and other clinic-related tasks. This position works with nurses, MAs, respiratory therapists, schedulers, doctors, pharmacists, and more throughout the day. Position works most closely with one other MA and two LPNs and several RNs. We are looking for a team-oriented individual who has a passion for helping patients through their healthcare journey.     Department/Unit Summary

    The environment in the Vanderbilt Interdisciplinary Care Program is friendly, positive, and enthusiastic. We care for adult patients ranging in age from 18 and older who are being treated for multiple medical conditions often associated with the additional stressors of being under-resourced, homeless, or with addiction issues.

    Our patients are unique because we have created a medical home incorporating an interdisciplinary team that collaboratively works to improve health, reduce the dependence of emergency rooms as a primary source of care, and reduce hospital admissions.

    Job Summary

    Assists the nursing staff and patients with basic care needs, implementing orders, and evaluating care for various patients within the facility. Reports directly to the charge nurse and Clinical Director of the unit. This position works in conjunction with other members of nursing service, ancillary services, physicians, patients, and families. It collaborates with various members of the healthcare team to ensure quality of care across the continuum. Requires the ability to be self-directed and quality focused. Interpersonal communication skills are a necessary function of this position.

    Position Hours

    12-hour shifts

    Days: 6:45 a.m. - 7:15 p.m.

    Nights: 6:45 p.m. - 7:15 a.m.

    This position pays a flat $22/hr.

    Requirements

    To be considered, you:

    MUST be a current nursing student ANDyou MUST have completed your first clinical rotation.Required to work two shifts a week for the duration of the 8-week program, plus additional shadow experiences. After the 8-week program concludes, you may have the ability to stay on as true PRN.Key Responsibilities

    Obtains vital signs, Intake and Outputs, and daily weight

    Reports any abnormal findings to the nurse and/or charge nurse

    Assists patients with activities of daily living, bathing, and toileting

    May transcribe physician orders, answers patient all lights and relays messages to staff in a timely manner

    May assist physicians with obtaining needed information on patients

    Adheres to practices and policies outlined to ensure patient safety and follows infection control standards

Organization: Outpt Oncology Pharmacy Job Summary: JOB SUMMARY Provides leadership in optimal product preparation and dosing of medications, and provision of patient specific drug information to include patient specific dosing. Aides in the prevention and reporting of medication errors and adverse drug reactions according to policy. Supports quality relationships with health care professionals, families, and patients; and the pharmacist is actively involved in being further educated and providing education in all appropriate ways. . KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Reviews drug orders and/or prescriptions to ensure the safe, appropriate and cost-effective use of medications. Provides outstanding patient care by optimizing medication preparation and resolving medication-related problems. Prepares and dispenses medications, provides drug information and manages medication therapy in accordance with federal, state and local regulations and hospital policy. Supervises the activities of assigned support personnel and verifying the accuracy and appropriateness of all medications prepared by support personnel prior to dispensing to patients or dispensing to healthcare providers for administration to patients.
