    Valley Springs Behavioral Health Hospital offers compassionate, high-quality inpatient and outpatient mental health and co-occurring treatment for teens, adults, and seniors. We provide a full-range of evidence-based medical and clinical services in a state-of-the-art healing environment.

    Programs include inpatient mental health and co-occurring treatment, Partial Hospitalization Programs (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP).

    How you'll contribute

    The Manager of Outpatient Services provides leadership and clinical oversight for all outpatient treatment programs serving patients with psychiatric and substance use disorders, including IOP and PHP levels of care. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality, compliant, and integrated clinical services through the supervision and development of therapy staff and the implementation of evidence-based therapeutic modalities. The Manager oversees treatment planning, documentation, discharge planning, and regulatory compliance while collaborating with interdisciplinary teams and hospital leadership to support continuity of care, patient engagement, and optimal clinical outcomes.

    What we're looking for

    Applicants should have

    Master's degree from an accredited school of social work or is qualified by education and experience in the social services needs of patients with psychiatric and substance abuse issues.

    Current clinical social work or counseling license as required by state regulations

    Previous experience in an outpatient healthcare, psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment principles knowledge required.

    CPR/BLS certification and Handle with Care within 30 days prior to patient contact.

    Position Summary:

    The Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct patient care and clinical coordination within our behavioral health units, delivering quality, compassionate care for child (ages 5-17), adult, geriatric and forensic patients. You†ll work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans while maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment.

    Reports to: Chief Nursing Officer
    FLSA: Non-Exempt

    Education & Licensure Requirements:

    Education: Graduate of an accredited Nursing program (ADN) Required, BSN Preferred. Licensure: Current unencumbered RN license in the state of Massachusetts (or compact state as applicable) Required . Certifications: BLS (CPR) - Required upon hire. CPI or Handle With Care - Preferred. ACLS - Preferred. CRRN - Preferred. Required Skills & Experience: Graduate of an accredited nursing program - Required. 6+ months Med/Surg experience - Preferred. Behavioral Health or Psychiatric experience - Preferred. Strong communication, assessment, and de-escalation skills . Calm, compassionate, and focused under pressure.     Essential Job Functions Nurses at Valley Springs are active participants and key collaborators on the patient team in a patient's behavioral health journey. Provide direct nursing care according to established standards and procedures. Assess patient conditions, develop individualized care plans, and document progress. Administer medications and treatments safely. Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other clinicians to coordinate care. Support psychiatric emergencies and crisis interventions. Promote a culture of safety, dignity, and respect. Engage in professional development and performance improvement initiatives. Communicate effectively and professionally with patients' families' legal guardians and regulatory bodies.

    How you'll contribute

    The Lead Therapist performs social services functions to include assisting patients in meeting their bio-psychosocial needs while enabling them access to therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health. Therapist counsels patients individually or through group education regarding psychological, emotional, or substance abuse problems using evaluative techniques and develops and implements therapeutic treatment. Therapist provides education, social work services, basic consultation, and crisis intervention. Therapist provides referrals to patients for aftercare. Lead Therapist supervises individual and group counseling and oversees responsibility for training new staff to ensure clinical documentation is current and accurate and meets all regulatory and other standards. Lead Therapist will assist with monitoring and coaching relating to accurate and timely completion of documentation and assists with coordinating coverage of shifts. Lead Therapist will help to disseminate information from the DCS and/or other management to therapists when assigned as needed.

    Position Overview

    The RN House Supervisor serves as the clinical and operational leader during assigned shifts, ensuring safe staffing levels, quality patient care, and smooth hospital operations.

    This role provides leadership support across behavioral health units and acts as the administrative representative when senior leadership is not onsite.

    Our hospital serves child (5-17), adult, geriatric, and forensic behavioral health populations.

    Key Responsibilities

    - Oversee nursing and hospital operations during assigned shifts
    - Ensure appropriate staffing and patient coverage across units
    - Provide leadership, guidance, and clinical support to nursing staff
    - Respond to patient care needs and assist with admissions or intake when needed
    - Support staff development, coaching, and performance management
    - Maintain compliance with regulatory standards (TJC, CMS, state regulations)
    - Assist with scheduling, attendance monitoring, and payroll coordination
    - Perform direct patient care duties as needed

    Qualifications

    Education
    - Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) - Required
    - Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - Preferred

    Licensure
    - Active Registered Nurse (RN) license - Massachusetts

    Certifications
    - BLS (CPR) - Required upon hire
    - CPI / Handle With Care - Preferred
    - ACLS - Preferred

    Experience
    - Behavioral Health or Psychiatric Nursing experience preferred
    - Leadership or charge nurse experience strongly preferred
    - Strong communication, conflict resolution, and de-escalation skills
