We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse ECMO (Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation) Specialist to join our newly developing ECMO program. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of experience in managing veno-venous (V-V), venoarterial (V-A) ECMO, Extracorporeal Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (ECPR), and ECMO transport. The ECMO Specialist functions independently following standing ECMO orders and parameters while under the direction of the ECMO Physician and ECMO APP. This role involves providing expert care to critically ill patients, ensuring optimal functioning of the ECMO circuit, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.Additionally, you will be actively involved in research, education, and precepting as part of the program’s development.

Job Requirements:Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.Minimum of 3 years of experience as an ECMO specialist in a critical care setting.Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required.Succesful completion of an accredited school of respiratory therapy and have sucessfully completed the registry exammination for advanced level practitioners and be recognized as a Registered Respiratiry Therapist(RRT) by the National Board of Respiratory Care(NRBC). Provides accurate and meaningful data to teams, committees and physician groups by understanding data dictionaries and using appropriately, using self-coded data sheets, assisting in determining appropriate data to collect by asking right questions and identifying correct populations, and using working knowledge of existing databases to obtain data already being collected. Appropriate knowledge and application of basic statistical tools, such as, standard deviation, frequency distributions, histograms, and Pareto charts. Actively participate in divisional meetings, processes, and activities to ensure Quality functions are disseminated consistently throughout the division. Chair and lead the local Performance Improvement Committee. Acts as a liaison between the Performance Improvement Committee and the Governing Board, to ensure all CMS CoPs are met. Qualifications
Education and Experience: Required: Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Public Health or other business related field. Education must be obtained through an accredited institution and will be verified. Experience leading successful Quality Improvement projects. Experience with change management with the ability to provide leadership in the adaptation and implementation of new processes and /or technology that enhance Quality. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills. Experience overseeing patient safety programs. Experience leading teams.
