Our comprehensive, fully paid six-month training program includes all training materials, class discussions, hands-on training, e-learning modules, and the instructor led guidance will help you to support our membership independently. We have new training classes starting every month.

    Our in-office development program provides the training you need and the encouragement to create a proactive and independent support style to service our membership.

    The work schedule may require working evenings up to 8:00PM Local Time to include a permanent Saturday or Sunday. These roles include ashift differential of 15%for hours worked after 6:00PM Local Time and any hours worked on Saturday or Sunday. We have new training classes starting every month.

    After six months in-office, you'll have the opportunity to work offsite 2 days per week.The actual onsite days are settled between each employee and their manager. Military veterans and spouses are highly encouraged to apply. Relocation assistanceis notavailable for this position.

    Phoenixcandidates must successfully prepare for and pass the Property & Casualty (P&C) state licensing exam and obtain license before their hire date. USAA provides all study materials for the licensing prep course and the state license exam fees for up to three attempts.

    For new hires starting inSeptember, October, Novemberwe are offering a signing bonus of $2,000. Bonuses will be paid in two equal installments of $1,000 after 45 days of employment and after one year of employment.

    Our Insurance Customer Service Representatives in our 1 Norterra Drive, Phoenix, AZ location will work within defined guidelines and framework, to provide customer service, sales, and retention activities for one or more of USAA's Property & Casualty personal line products. Representatives interact with our members across multiple contact channels (i.e. inbound phone calls, email, chat, social media, etc.) to provide adequate coverage and advice to help ensure members' financial security.

    USAA offers Phoenix employees who reside in designated service zones, a fully subsidized, reliable, safe, and employee-centric transportation solution. The service zone includes all areas connecting to Tempe: Ahwatukee, Alhambra, Central Phoenix, Chandler, Gilbert, Maricopa, Mesa, Paradise Valley, Queen Creek, Scottsdale. This convenient service will transport employees from a designated park & ride location to the Phoenix Campus.

    What you'll do: Facilitate the member experience by answering phone calls, emails, and other requests from members.Apply developing knowledge of personal lines of insurance to assist members with foundational to moderately complex quotes, binding new business, rating, policy, billing, payment, underwriting, contract and coverage provisions, and premium changes for insurance products and services. Responsible for the respective trailing documents for all states.Identify, evaluate and understand member needs and consistently provide complete and accurate advice and solutions, including product and service information. Provide detailed issue diagnosis while minimizing transfers and call backs.Use available tools and resources to support members with some assistance.Effectively operate in a contact center environment and navigate multiple systems/programs while maintaining an engaging member interaction that occurs across multiple channels.Maintain required Property & Casualty licenses and state registrations.Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures. Be part of what truly makes us special and impactful.The OpportunityThe Auto Pricing Modernization is looking for a Lead Actuary to lead the development and deployment of the new Auto class plan, utilizing pricing, product, and modeling skillsets to shape the future of auto pricing.  As a Credentialed Actuary Lead you may also leverage expert, broad actuarial knowledge in at least one actuarial practice area (pricing, reserving, modeling, catastrophe risk, claims analytics, product management, etc.) to identify, define, and design solutions for complex, thought-provoking problems that drive business results at the LOB level.This position can work remotely in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel.What you'll do:Apply deep and broad actuarial knowledge to identify, define, and design solutions to complex problems with ambiguous requirements (e.g., end-to-end design of rate level indications process for a new product; independently shapes and transforms all aspects of machine learning and AI for a product: (data selection, model selection, stakeholder communications, performance monitoring, etc.); independently runs catastrophe models for advanced ad-hoc analyses; provides guidance and training to peers for running and validating the catastrophe models; enhances current methodologies to tailor catastrophe model results to better represent USAA’s risk; designs and performs broad and complex actuarial analyses that produces actionable insights for company-level decision-making designs reserving methodology and technical platform for new product.Utilize advanced actuarial, mathematical, or statistical techniques to augment actuarial work product, methodologies, and procedures.Lead special actuarial projects, such as the development of new pricing methodologies or reporting tools to impact LOB-level initiatives.Provide thought and/or technical expertise on complex topics and influences key stakeholders on business decisions.Lead cross-functional actuarial initiatives.Strategically partner with IT to influence the design, alignment, and implementation of technical business standards.Manage USAA vendor relationship(s).Assist the business unit with translating strategic objectives into tactical solutions.Maintain current knowledge of market trends and emerging risks and proactively develops strategies, policies, and processes to address them.Develop written communication and presentations that effectively to convey data-driven solutions to broad audiences including cross-functional executive leadership.Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.What you have:Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related Actuarial/business/analytical experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.8 years of Actuarial or analytical business experience + Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) Credential held for 3 years; OR 6 years of Actuarial or analytical business experience + Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) Credential.Demonstrated expertise with relevant actuarial, mathematical, and statistical techniques and approaches used to support fact-based decision-making.Advanced knowledge of data analysis tools, data visualization, developing analysis queries and procedures in Python, R, SQL, SAS, BI tools or other analysis software, and relevant industry data & methods and ability to connect external insights to business problems.Demonstrated experience communicating complex solutions and analysis to cross-functional audiences, including executive leadership.What sets you apart:Experience leading teams through effective communication, learning, and mentorshipA passion for creative and innovative actuarial work and developing that mindset in less experienced analysts through projects related to this workExpert Actuarial pricing with experience in using a variety of pricing methodologies and models to include Auto pricing.Strong experience translating detailed analytics into manageable visualizations and communicating/presenting the results concisely to executive leadershipExperience working on multiple projects, managing competing priorities, and prioritizing workflow through strong partnerships with multiple business partners.Working knowledge of data analytic tools and Python/R/SQL or other language and high level of ability to oversee others in their use of these toolsExpert problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytic skillsUS military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partnerCompensation range: The salary range for this position is: $164,780 - $314,960.USAA does not provide visa sponsorship for this role.
