The Assembler, who works under the direction of the Production Supervisor is responsible for producing parts by assembling parts and subassemblies by hand or with simple machinery. Essential Duties and Responsibilities : The essential duties and responsibilities of this job are included but not limited to this job description – other tasks may be assigned and expected to be performed. Follow work instructions and/or route sheets, assemble and/or pack products for various departments. Inspect machine at beginning of shift and notates on check sheet. Clean and/or lubricate machinery as required. Inspect and place parts in designated trays. Meet specified quantity and quality guidelines. Maintain equipment in a clean and orderly condition. Reports faulty operation or defective material to supervisor Conducts visual quality inspections Ability to place product in container while on different types of work surfaces, such as slick or slippery, and on different levels. Monitor machines Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work in different environments such as a slick work surface, climbing steps to retrieve product in a machine. Ability to work with heavy machinery (Milling Machines, Injection Molding, Etc.) Ability to work in dimly lit areas. Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered. One to three months related experience and/or training. Manual dexterity and ability to use various machines. Attention to detail. Ability to read a limited number of two-and three syllable words and to recognize similarities and differences between words and between series of numbers. Ability to print and speak simple sentences. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s. Ability to perform these operations using weight measurement. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Basic computer skills. Basic problem solving or troubleshooting skills. Ability to work with a team. The Team Lead, who reports to the Production Supervisor, leads an assigned production team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The essential duties and responsibilities of this job are included but not limited to this job description – other tasks may be assigned and expected to be performed. Communicate effectively, clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing with supervisors, team members and other departments. Provide direction and delegate assignments to team members in order to meet requirements. Monitor machines, daily production and WIP to communicate any issues or problems that affect productivity to supervision/management. These can include: machines down; scheduling issues; anything that can cause a customer shipment being missed; and anticipating problems and taking appropriate action Assist in troubleshooting and repair of machine issues. Assist with the weekly cycle count program and location counts. Ensure these are done correctly and on time. Monitor Fork Truck drivers to ensure they are scanning material to correct locations to prevent inventory issues. Write up and submit service requests/work orders. Assist in quality investigations. Assist operators in non-conformance issues and write up NC’s in IQS. Evaluate operator skills on an ongoing basis and communicate training needs to supervision/management. Train operators. Conduct audits and layered process audits of machines/processes as requested or scheduled. Ensure all forms and documents are being completed correctly and on a time. Create and monitor daily efficient flow of material through the department by utilization of manpower and equipment in the department. Foster working relationships with associated departments i.e. Planning, Engineering and Quality.
