    JOB SUMMARY: 

    The Family Support Specialist II is responsible for providing comprehensive case management, referrals, and seamless coordination with community and supportive service activities that promote economic self-sufficiency for families, enhance the quality of life for seniors and people with disabilities, and increase opportunities for residents. This role involves collaborating with a team of professionals in various fields to determine suitable approaches and support families in different neighborhoods under the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development.

    JOB RESPONSIBLTIES: 

    Conduct intake, assessments, enroll residents in family support program, and visit various locations for resident information gathering. Collaborate with families on Development Plans, assist in accessing social services, advocate for service delivery for up to 100 individuals. Ensure privacy, track resident data in USI's "LEARN" system, attend community and program-related meetings. Available for occasional nights/weekends, travel up to 25%, perform administrative tasks. Providing resources and knowledge for clients to access capital, including loans for financial goals like housing and consumer products, to build credit, reduce debt, and support wealth growth through entrepreneurship. Offering consultation services in financial management and goal-setting. Hosting in-person and virtual seminars for clients seeking financial literacy management resources and capital access.     QUALIFICATIONS:

    Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, or related field. 3+ years of experience as a case manager or in direct practice with low-income households; health services experience a plus.     The Project Manager collaborates with the Education Team, providing strategic direction and hands-on project management to enhance education outcomes for children and families.     Job Summary:

    The Senior Project Manager will plan and oversee all aspects of the organizational strategy to ensure that families in the target area are stable and thriving. The Senior Project Manager will establish effective and strong working relationships with clients and other key community partners (i.e. schools, service providers, civic leaders, federal, state and local public agencies, businesses, philanthropy, etc.). This position is funded whole or in part with Choice Neighborhoods grant funds.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


    1. Partnership Development and Cultivation

    Research and identify high impact partners that have the ability or with capacity building will have the ability to meet the programmatic goals. Oversee, monitor and lead sub-contractors and partners from the private, nonprofit and public sectors and support them in implementation of programs and services. Develop and sustain new working relationships with key partner organizations and social service providers with resources that can support programmatic goals. Coordinate and manage the development of any special projects as needed. Collaborate with the housing management team to ensure that housing stability goals for each specific site are addressed effectively. Develop robust partnership to increase the economic development within the neighborhood. Develop and implement a neighborhood revitalization plan that supports the residents within the neighborhood but also maximize the economic mobility of constituents.

    2. Reporting Requirements

    In consultation with Executive staff, develop and implement an Annual Plan for the target area. The Annual Plan must align with the overall programmatic goals and be consistent with program philosophies and the articulated vision for a sustainable mixed-income community. Programs and services must be informed by ongoing needs assessment and evidence-based practice. Track and report programmatic outcomes and engage in ongoing evaluation of programs and services to ensure that they meet project objectives and other project requirements. Monitoring the productivity of all data entered into the LEARN Performance Management System to prepare reports and document progress towards programmatic goals.


    3. Sustainability and Capacity Building

    Facilitate community building, leadership training and capacity building activities to strengthen and expand the ability of residents, resident leaders and local partners to contribute to neighborhood transformation. Support sustainability planning, fundraising and resource development efforts as directed, including through ongoing identification of potential partnerships and funding opportunities, and assisting with writing grant or project proposals.


    4. Administrative

    Manage project contracts and budgets and be accountable for expenditures to Director of Finance. Develop and present or publish internal and external reports to stakeholders and partners. Actively participate in Urban Strategies program meetings and other meetings related to the project. Be available to occasionally work nights and/or weekends, and travel. Other administrative duties as assigned.

    QUALIFICATIONS:


    Education and/or experience required:

    Master’s Degree preferred. Bachelor’s Degree required. Five years of work experience, in the not-for-profit or human services sector, demonstrating progressively higher levels of responsibility for managing all aspects of a project or program, overseeing partnerships and contracts, and supervising a team of individuals.

    Skills and/or competencies required:

    Excellent communication skills, both oral and written. Must be able to communicate effectively with all members of a diverse stakeholder group, from residents to professionals and executives. Must provide writing sample demonstrating effective persuasive writing. Must be comfortable and effective in facilitating group processes.     JOB SUMMARY:

    The Education Specialist will develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs that foster lifelong learning initiatives and career readiness. This role involves working closely with community members, educators, and partner organizations to address educational needs and promote continuous personal and professional growth.

    JOB RESPONSIBLTIES:  

    Support students in their educational and workforce transitions, offering readiness assistance such as job training, internships, and career counseling. Engage and assist parents and families, providing support both at school and at home. Coordinate community-based support for students, fostering their ongoing connection to the community and success in post-secondary education and the workforce. Ensure access to social, health, nutrition, and mental health services for families and students, while actively promoting attendance strategies. Compile and analyze research data for decision-making purposes and represent Urban Strategies at local meetings, providing detailed reports. Troubleshoot education-related issues and align services with Family Support Specialists. Assist families in navigating school choice options and maintain education data integrity within LEARN. Participate in national education webinars and training opportunities to enhance skills. Foster successful educational partnerships by tracking leverage, facilitating data sharing, and collaborating on initiatives with partners. Develop and update an Educational Resource Portfolio. Providing resources and knowledge for clients to access capital, including loans for financial goals like housing and consumer products, to build credit, reduce debt, and support wealth growth through entrepreneurship. Offering consultation services in financial management and goal-setting. Hosting in-person and virtual seminars for clients seeking financial literacy management resources and capital access. Supporting and promoting the development of the USI CDFI client base.

    QUALIFICATIONS: 

    Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field required. 3 years of project management experience, including complex contracts or grants administration for 2 years. Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to work in cross-disciplinary teams. Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills. Experience in case management, service coordination, and relationship building. Proficient in MS Office Suite and desktop publishing software, SPSS proficiency is advantageous. Passion for social entrepreneurship and ability to handle confidential information professionally. Flexibility for evening/weekend functions and travel. Knowledge of the local community is preferred. Knowledge of the community and area at which the position serves.
