    Unit Description: R5 is a unit that specializes in Oncology and End of Life care. We work closely with our Palliative care team, whose office is located on R5.Oncology care ranges from, symptom management, radiation, Chemo (IV and oral), medication side effects and Oncological Emergencies. When starting on R5 you will not be required to hang IV chemo for the first 6 months to one year. When you become comfortable with the R5 population we will train you in chemo administration. We currently have a Full Time (36hr/wk) Night Shift position available.

    Must be licensed by the New York State Department of Health.

    Active status must bemaintainedin both areas.

    Must have threeyearsCT experience in a hospital setting, excluding training time.

    Must be New York State Department of Health certified to inject IV contrast within two (2) months of completing the orientation period.

    Willbe responsible foron-callin CT per union contract.

    Requires sufficient sensitivity and interpersonal skills in dealing with apprehensive patients and families in a professional and compassionate manner.

    Requires positive and effectivecommunicatingskills for interaction with physicians and staff in any situation.

    Requires an ability to think and act quicklyin order todeliver efficient quality care in a variety of stressful situations.

    Must be BLS certified (or obtained within 3 months).
