Primary Care Sports Medicine / Non-operative Sports Medicine Orthopedic Physician UTRGV School of Medicine Department of Orthopedics seeks a Primary Care Sports Medicine Physician/Non-operative Sports Medicine Physician. Candidates must be board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine and have completed an accredited Sports Medicine Fellowship. They must possess or be eligible for a Texas Medical License and qualify for a faculty appointment in the Department of Surgical Specialty and Musculoskeletal (MSK) at UTRGV School of Medicine and appropriate hospital staff appointments. Responsibilities Provide patient care. Teach residents and medical students. Cover collegiate and high school athletics. Engage in clinical research. Minimum Qualifications Board certified or eligible in Family Medicine. Completed an accredited Sports Medicine Fellowship. Possess or eligible for a Texas Medical License. Proven record of clinical excellence, educational experience, and strong communication skills. Commitment to the education of residents and medical students. Preferred Qualifications Superior knowledge of evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of musculoskeletal conditions including athletic injuries. Ability to work with comprehensive sports medicine program staff. Understanding of sports cultures and practices; ability to prescribe medications; manage musculoskeletal conditions non-operatively. Other Information Location: Edinburg, Texas. The position may require presence at multiple locations throughout the Rio Grande Valley. Appointment: 1 year, full-time (1.0 FTE).
