  • Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPOSITION SUMMARYThe Associate Director of Crowdfunding drives the Foundation's crowdfunding strategy and oversees crowdfunding programs within the Constituent Engagement and Annual Giving department, including UConn Gives, the Ignite competitions, and one-off campaigns. This position serves as the main point of contact and is responsible for planning, recruiting, training, and executing these programs.Primary ResponsibilitiesWorking with the Director of Digital Marketing, craft a crowdfunding strategy for the Foundation that supports donor growth goals and increases engagement with key constituencies.Manage the annual UConn Gives and Ignite campaigns. This includes:Creating a project plan that includes goals, a communications outline, timeline, list of deliverables, and evaluation plan.Marketing the campaigns to internal partners, recruiting participating groups, and onboarding, training, and stewarding participants.Planning and managing in-person, on-campus events and trainings, including Ignite Day.Assisting Digital Marketing team with creation of campaign pages using the Foundation's online giving platform.Serving as liaison with student activities, club sports, and UConn Law to oversee the distribution and management of funds following the Ignite competitions.Identify, develop and execute new crowdfunding opportunities in partnership with the Director of Digital Marketing and the Director of Direct Response.Collaborate with Social Media Engagement Manager on marketing plans for student and crowdfunding campaigns.Collaborate with members of the Creative, Content & Communication team on the development of creative assets for use in crowdfunding efforts.Serve as a regular contributor in Annual Giving team meetings. Collaborate with Director of Direct Response on schedule of annual appeals via direct mail, Husky Storyteller program, and/or digital solicitations to acquire new donors and retain existing donors.Manage the Foundation's Faculty and Staff giving program and serve as the point of contact for questions.Support clearly defined and strategic fundraising priorities within the campaign and articulate compelling cases to advance these priorities.Model and articulate the Foundation's organizational core values at all times.Perform other duties as assigned.Potential Donor DiscoveryCollaborate with the Prospect Management and Research team to increase and grow the donor pipeline and overall fundraising success of the Foundation.EngagementCollaborate with Donor Relations/Stewardship and Digital Marketing to steward donors, engage with alumni, and support campaigns specific to your department.LeadershipProvide visible leadership across the entire organization by engaging in organization-wide activities such as departmental meetings, all-staff meetings, and staff events.

You will also serve as an additional point of contact for all media questions and requests. In this role, you will:Write, edit, and manage the production of written communications, in support of the fundraising and alumni relations communication plans. Deliverables may include, but are not limited to: annual reports, alumni and donor stories, web copy, newsletters, and other informational pieces as needed. Recommend messages, themes, story ideas, etc. Write and edit copy. Coordinate photography, design, etc. within authority levels.Writing assignments may include but are not limited to - alumni and donor stories, solicitation and engagement materials such as direct marketing and on-line solicitations, fundraising proposals and events support including talking points and related materials. Assignments may also include copy for donor recognition materials; and development and alumni related articles for University publications, e.g., UConn Magazine and UConn Today.Draft, edit, and distribute internal newsletters, announcements, and other content to keep employees informed and engaged. Repurpose external stories for internal use.Develop FAQs and talking points to support leadership in communicating with employees effectively.Monitor the effectiveness of internal communications and gather feedback to improve content and delivery methods.Develop and implement a crisis communication plan for the foundation working alongside the University Communications team. Monitor media coverage and maintain key media contacts.In partnership with Creative Content & Communication team leader, provide guidance, writing and editorial support to CEO, Chief of Staff, and other Senior Cabinet members as needed for special engagements or meetings.Work collaboratively with writing team. You will also facilitate the resolution of computer hardware and software problems, assist IT leadership to ensure consistency and standardization of software usage within the Foundation, assist or perform server and network systems installation and support, and provide general first level server and network systems support. You may also serve as backup to the other IT staff positions in their absence.Schedule Note: The hybrid schedule will typically require three days per week in office, but flexibility will be expected should needs arise on other days. This position may also require occasional off-hour work related to Foundation meetings and events, systems maintenance and/or emergency systems issues in collaboration with the IT leadership.In this role, you will:Help Desk Operations and Supervision - Primarily responsible for help desk support and supervision.Prioritize, evaluate, resolve and escalate all support requests as required. Ensure that follow-up with customer meets or exceeds standard SLA. Manage the operation and maintenance of the help desk ticketing system and the maintenance of help desk policies and procedures.Assist IT leadership with the hiring and training of Help Desk Staff and IT Student Interns.Provide Individual and group instruction in the use of technology.Assist with user technology needs analysis and solutions recommendations.Coordinate efforts to ensure consistency and standardization of software within the Foundation.Order parts, equipment and supplies through warranty or purchase agreements.
