Position Summary
The Resource Teacher (Library & Media) serves students in Kindergarten through 8th grade by providing instruction and engagement through library services, digital literacy, and computer-based learning. This role supports student growth by fostering a love for reading, developing research and technology skills, and creating a Christ-centered environment where students learn to use their knowledge and gifts to glorify God.
Key Responsibilities
Library & Literacy Engagement
Manage and maintain the school library, including organization, circulation, and inventory of materialsPromote a love of reading through book talks, reading programs, and classroom library visitsAssist students in selecting age-appropriate and engaging reading materialsSupport literacy development across all grade levelsMedia & Technology Instruction
Provide developmentally appropriate instruction in computer skills and digital literacy for K–8 studentsTeach foundational to intermediate skills such as typing, research, online safety, and basic applicationsGuide students in responsible and ethical use of technologySupport classroom teachers with technology integrationStudent Engagement & Instruction

* Oversee curriculum review, alignment, and implementation across all grade levels.

* Support accreditation processes and ensure compliance with academic standards and policies.

* Serve as a resource for parents regarding curriculum, academic programs, and student progress.
* Collaborate with admissions and advancement teams as needed to support student recruitment and retention.
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in education, including instructional leadership or administrative experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum development, instructional strategies, and academic assessment.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
A clear commitment to Christian education and alignment with University Christian School’s mission and values.
Preferred
Master’s degree or higher in Education, Educational Leadership, or related field.
Experience in a Christian school or faith-based educational environment.
Familiarity with accreditation processes and educational best practices.
