Essential Functions
An 8th-grade science and social studies teacher typically develops and delivers engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards, assesses student learning, fosters a positive classroom environment, and collaborates with school staff to support student success. They also communicate with parents, integrate technology, and may participate in professional development.
Responsibilities
Plan and teach engaging science and social studies lessons, incorporating diverse learning styles and incorporating relevant technologies.Develop and administer assessments to evaluate student understanding and progress, providing constructive feedback.Establish and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and learning.Work with other teachers, special educators, and school staff to support student needs and implement school-wide initiatives.Maintain regular communication with parents regarding student progress, behavior, and academic performance.Stay current with advancements in teaching methodologies and integrate new knowledge into their practice. Specific Duties:Create lesson plans that align with state and national standards, incorporating relevant content and activities. Utilize technology to enhance lessons and engage students, creating a 21st-century learning experience. Provide individualized and small group instruction to adapt the curriculum to meet diverse student needs. Analyze assessment data to identify areas where students need additional support and adjust teaching strategies accordingly. Communicate with parents about student progress, behavior, and any concerns or needs.Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree (required).Valid state teaching certification for the grade level, possibly with endorsements.Classroom experience is often preferred.Ability to work as a team member.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Knowledge of current teaching methods and how to adapt instruction.Accountability for student achievement.Strong classroom management skills.Positive attitude and dedication to the school's mission.

JOB GOAL: The Personal Care Aide (PCA) is responsible for working one-on-one with assigned scholars with disabilities to provide quality care and motivation. The PCA is also responsible for maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Serve as a positive role model, apply approved behavior management techniques designed to encourage appropriate social behavior.Utilize appropriate and approved therapeutic interactions skills, build relationships, listen, praise effectively, and lead activities with assigned scholar.Observe, document, and report to appropriate supervisor, noticeable changes in individual's behaviors and/or health conditions.Assist with scholar’s classwork and provide supervision during testing. Participate in the implementation of each student’s educational program as outlined in their IEPs and according to the schedule and routine of the classroom program.Act as a liaison in communicating with teachers and other intermediate unit or district staff about the ongoing needs of individual students.Provide advice and possible solutions to teacher and other support staff concerning classroom-related issues.Document information regarding the students, including needs, strengths, gains, and problems.Follow the behavior support plans as provided by the teacher or behavior support staff.Supervise and support students during eating activities, gym, outdoor recess, and field trips as needed.Provide support to students attending inclusive regular education classes, assisting with modifications as directed by the teachers.Oversee students while embarking and disembarking from school bus, as needed.Participate in meetings to develop and update IEPs and Evaluation Reports, as requested.Attend training sessions, in-service workshops, and update skills as necessary.Assist students in activities of daily living and personal care skills, as needed including physically positioning students as or assisting with the mobility of students with physical challenges.Legal, ethical, and professional practices in compliance with federal and state mandates, as well as local policies concerning performance.Perform other duties as requested.
REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent (GED)Ability to work with children with disabilities at different age levels.Some experience in rearing and supervising. Good human relations skills. Knowledge of and adheres to all policies, regulations, and rules.

Essential Functions
The Speech-Language Therapist’s primary responsibility is to identify, evaluate, and provide speech interventions and indirect/direct services for students with communication needs.
Duties/ Responsibilities:
Conduct initial evaluations and re-evaluations of students with communication needs and produce final evaluation reports within mandated timelines.Administer testing as needed, including screenings to determine the need for further assessment.Interpret assessment results to provide meaningful recommendations to increase student success.Participate as a key member of the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and the IEP TeamArticulate test results to parents and IEP team in a clear and concise mannerProvide present levels of functional performance, IEP goals, and recommendations for services.Assist in the placement of students with complex needs requiring specialized programming.Participate in and provide on-going professional development for staff, students, and parents.Collect data, monitor student progress, and make recommendations to assist with the planning and implementation of student supports.Program Specific:
Provide push-in and pull-out therapy sessions working with students individually, in small groups, and in inclusive classroom settings.Consult with IEP teams to determine appropriate modes of communication for individual students and the integration of this system in the school setting and home.Provide training in the use of low and high-tech assistive technology devices for communication and augmented communication systems when necessary.Collaborate with the Vice President of Special Education, school administration, and the special education and student support teams to develop individual and tiered supports to address student needs.Review and finalize evaluation reports completed by other SLPs to ensure accuracy and a high standard of excellence.Assist with the School-Based ACCESS Program (SBAP) and the billing of eligible services.All other related duties as determined necessary by management.Qualifications:
Master’s Degree or higher in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders and PDE Certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist required. Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in a school setting required; experience with early intervention, elementary and secondary students preferred. Prior experience with administering and interpreting an array of standardized tests, and the evaluation and diagnosis of exceptional children with developmental disabilities and communication needs required.Ability to conduct bilingual evaluations in Spanish and/or Cantonese highly preferred.Experience in an urban setting preferred.Understanding of the K-12 education environment and commitment to serving all studentsStrong understanding of special education regulations and the fundamentals of IDEA (e.g. federal and state compliance, evaluation process, disabilities, IEP requirements, discipline, etc.)Exemplary written and verbal communication skillsExceptional attention to detailAbility to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, high-needs environment and flexibility to support multiple school settings.
