    The Cardiology Inpatient Consult Team Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will provide cardiology medical care and treatment to patients in the hospital, under direction of physician by ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs. The Nurse Practitioner or PA will records physical findings, and formulate plans and prognoses, based on patient's condition to ensure excellent patience care. They will discuss cases with physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plans. Candidate must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and have current certificate of registration from the NCCPA.
    More specifically, the Consult Team APP works as a team to cover Cardiology inpatients at Wilson Medical Center. That team includes Attending Cardiologist, Cardiac fellows, and residents on Cardiology service. The team round as a group to discuss patients and plan. The Consult Team APP also collaborates with Cardiology subspecialties (Electrophysiology, Heart Failure, Interventional, Structural, Cardiac Imaging, Cardiothoracic Surgery) and the hospitalist/family medicine teams as well as coordinates cardiac testing, results, and care plans. The Consult Team APP has independence in seeing inpatients and is responsible for writing inpatient notes. The Consult Team APP also participates in the Cardiology APP schedule to cover outpatient cardiology messages.

    Board Eligible / Board Certified Anesthesiologist with interest in Cardiac procedures to join our busy practice which consists of 10 physicians and 20 CRNAs. We provide coverage at two local hospitals – UHS Wilson Medical Center, a Level II Trauma Center, (280 beds) and Binghamton General Hospital (220 beds), with opportunities for extra shifts at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital. Practice includes all procedures, including a light cardiac. Call 1:4, with resident rotation.

    Monday-Friday Schedule

Record findings, and formulate a plan and prognosis, based on patient's condition.

    Will also assist in performing consultations on inpatient consult service at UHSH. Will participate from time to time in goals of care meetings with other members of the Palliative Medicine Team. Will participate in rounding on inpatients followed by the consultation service at UHSH

    Will participate as a clinical educator in the instruction and supervision of learners: Medical students, Internal Medicine Residents, Family Medicine Residents, and Geriatric Medicine Fellows who are rotating on our Service. Will participate in clinical research activities from time to time as determined by the Medical Director of the Service.

    Will participate in and become a member of the UHS Ethics Committee. Will perform other assigned clinical duties as determined by the Medical Director.

    Board certified/eligible in Palliative Medicine as well as pertinent medical specialty (ie Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, etc.) and be able to maintain licensure in New York State.
