Full Job Description
We are hiring a maintenance worker to join our maintenance team. You will inspect different equipment and perform any basic repairs or preventative maintenance when required. To do well in this role you should have previous experience in maintenance, be highly skilled with various hand and power tools, and be able to read blueprints and repair manuals.Maintenance Worker Responsibilities:
Conducting routine inspections of premises and equipment.
Performing preventative maintenance.
Handling basic repairs and maintenance.
Overseeing contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
Diagnosing mechanical issues and correcting them.
Repairing machines, equipment, or structures as necessary.
Maintenance Worker Requirements:
Proven maintenance experience.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
Related degree from a tech college. (Not required)
Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
Experience performing routine maintenance.
Strong organizational and follow up skills.
Eye for detail.
Professional presentation and attitude.
Ability to maintain focus while working individually.
Strong time management skills.
Display basic knowledge or ability to acquire knowledge in the following categories: air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finish skills, kitchen equipment, and/or general building.
Perform all surface preparation, painting, minor drywall and wood trim repair, light bulb/ballast, and A/C filter replacement and the complete and thorough cleanup of the painting or repair area. Test, troubleshoot and perform basic repair on all types of equipment, plumbing (e.g., plunge toilets and unclog drains), electrical components including lamps, cosmetic items, extension cords, vacuum cleaners, internet devices, replace electrical switches and outlets, and other guestroom items.
Program TV's and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
Exterior landscaping, snow/ice preventative and or removal as well as internal fire alarm sprinklers,
Must have knowledge of maintaining pool, mechanical repairs, painting, plumbing and electrical work. The ability to bend, crouch, stoop, stand and walk constantly is a must. Heaving lifting may be required. Must have good problem-solving skills, and the ability to communicate both written and verbally. The ability to be a self-starter and a motivator is a must as following through on projects, preventative maintenance and day-to-day paperwork is a requirement. Any other work as required to ensure business is maintained and fully operational.
Open availability to include work on weekends and evenings, on call for afterhours repairs.

This weekly walk is to be documented via summary in your weekly reporting to the Director of Operations.Monitor the Preventative Maintenance (PM) book and Maintenance ticket binder to ensure completion and satisfaction.Meet weekly/bi-weekly with department heads to monitor effectiveness, discuss operations, and train on any immediate changes and or new procedures.Monitor attendance and tardiness of all associates.Performs duties in all aspects of hotel operations wherever needed.Attend all regional and brand-wide training's as outlined by the Brand.*
ADMINISTRATIVE
ADDITIONAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Serves as “Manager on Duty” when scheduled one weekend per month.Provides other relief or back-up duties as needed at the hotel including front desk coverage, housekeeping, and other duties to ensure the optimum operation of the property.Respond to all property communication (via cell phone, text, email) at all times and in a timely manner not to exceed one hour, unless otherwise authorized by Corporate Executives.Any other duties assigned by Management CompanySales Experience.
QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS**/optional
(1) years hospitality experice, Limited-Service, Full Service, Full Service, or Resort HOTEL hospitality management experience in major branded hotels preferred, Industry-wide brand considered.Ability to read and speak the English language and to follow/comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write TripAdvisor reviews, answer guest surveys, emails, and simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one on one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Ability to effectively communicate professionally with guests, associates, supervisors, and others as required for optimum operation of the property.Ability to organize multiple projects; manage and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.Basic knowledge of computers and software including the ability to use e-mail, word processing, spreadsheet software, and hotel management system.The employee must be able to work at a minimum of 40 hours per week at the property.
