At Wayne UNC you will work with a great team of ICU providers that includes 2 MDs and 1 other APP. You will be led by our ICU director, a physician with over 30 years of experience in pulmonary medicine, critical care medicine, and sleep medicine. You will also work very closely with the hospitalist team at UNC Wayne. At Wayne UNC we believe in providing the right care at the right time in the right place, and as a critical care APP, you will be instrumental to that goal.
We are searching for an APP with at least 2 years of experience in the field, capable of caring for critical care patients independently (with MD support and backup), and comfortable with procedures such as central line placements, intubations, and chest tube placement.
Responsibilities:
- Take care of an average of 14 patients daily jointly with the critical care MD, in both joint visits and an independent capacity
- Respond to all RRT and codes
- Perform ICU admissions and critical care consults on the medical floor, ED, PACU, overflow, and the ICU
- Write progress notes and update the physician as needed
- Critical care ventilator management and medication management
- Independently perform procedures

The Department of Pediatrics at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (UNC)/ North Carolina Children's Hospital is seeking an individual for a Per Diem opportunity at our UNC Health Nash facility in Rocky Mount, NC.
The physician will provide inpatient clinical services primarily in the Special Care Nursery (SCN) at Nash UNC Health Care. This level II neonatal intensive care unit serves Rocky Mount, North Carolina and surrounding counties admitting close to 200 patients per year. UNC Health Nash is affiliated with the University of North Carolina, a quaternary referral center to which UNC Health Nash is linked by teleconferencing, for the purpose of consultations and continuing medical education.
The SCN at UNC Health Nash is housed in the Women's Center, which opened in May 2016. The facility features 6 labor and delivery suites with private bathrooms, a dedicated cesarean section suite with a spacious recovery room, 16 soothing mother-baby post-partum rooms with private bathrooms and ample space for family and friends and a large, innovative Special Care Nursery. The Special Care Nursery is comprised of twelve individual rooms for infant patients that include sleeping accommodations, private bathrooms, and hot meals for family members who are encouraged to stay with their babies. Responsibilities:
1. Clinical- Obtains relevant health and medical history, performs thorough physical assessment, reviews and interprets pertinent diagnostic tests/results. Develops appropriate differential diagnoses. Develops and implements treatment plans including prescribing/ordering of appropriate evidence-based pharmacological agents consistent with departmental guidelines and privileging, and schedules appropriate follow-up management. Actively incorporates evidence-based hospital initiatives to improve patient care. Conducts preventive health screening based on age, history and patient needs. Maintains clear comprehensive yet concise records of all aspects of patient care. Maintains essential knowledge of general disease and pathologic processes. Maintains extensive knowledge of their specialty literature including awareness of developing areas. Consistently derives correct diagnoses through synthesis of clinical data and proper selection and interpretation of diagnostic studies. Develops comprehensive differential diagnoses for patients. Revises the plan of care to meet the changing needs of the patient. Prioritizes work and assists staff to provide prompt and efficient client flow.
