Summary:
Conducts procedures and tests using MRI equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.
Responsibilities:
1. Image Transfer- Maintains thorough understanding of PACS, and transmits images to QC, UNCH’s EMR, EPIC and PACS, verifies and segments images at the QC station, accesses IMPAX service tools to verify images transmission, completes, modifies and/or cancels orders in an appropriate and timely manner, cancels duplicate orders to avoid duplicate billing. Insures that all charge information is accurate. Verifies patient identification in accordance with UNC policy, insures that all appropriate demographic information is accurate and on the PACS images.
5. Summary:
The Surgical Technologist II works under the supervision of a surgeon and registered nurse to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Surgical technologists possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combine the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive

UNC ENT Goldsboro is excited to welcome a skilled and compassionate Audiologist to our growing clinic! This role offers a dynamic blend of diagnostic care, advanced technology, and opportunities to build your own patient panel.
In this position, you’ll provide standard audiology services including audiograms and tympanograms, as well as ABRs for infants and children. You’ll also conduct hearing aid assessments and fittings, supporting patients through the full continuum of care. Experience with cochlear implants and bone anchored hearing aids is strongly valued as part of our comprehensive service line.
Our clinic recently upgraded both our sound booth and audiology equipment, giving you access to modern tools that support high quality diagnostics. Alongside caring for ENT referred patients, you’ll also manage your own hearing aid patient caseload, including individuals served through the NC Deaf and Hard of Hearing program. To support your workflow, our dedicated Medical Office Assistant handles authorizations, benefit checks, and related administrative needs.
Summary:
The Audiologist II position provides a full range of differential diagnostic and rehabilitative audiologic services to patients who have peripheral hearing loss or central auditory disorder. The Audiologist II will assess patients, participate in regular staff training and team continuing education.
Responsibilities:
1. Patient Evaluation- Performs comprehensive, professional evaluation of patients of all ages, primarily children, referred for differential diagnosis of peripheral hearing and auditory function . Selects and administers the audiological test battery most appropriate for the patient's age, developmental level, and cognitive function. Demonstrates in specialized audiological tests, including acoustic immittance, otoacoustic emissions, hearing aid evaluation, and cochlear implant evaluation. Provides accurate interpretation of all diagnostic test findings. Consulting verbally with referring physicians, as necessary, to facilitate appropriate management. Prepares written diagnostic reports for the referring physician, school, and/or agency on a timely basis.
2. Patient Counseling- Ensures that patients and/or their families are thoroughly counseled about any hearing or auditory impairment. Provides individual counseling to each patient evaluated. Expands counseling to include members of extended family where requested by the patient and in the case of neonates, children, or dependent adults. Reviews communication treatment and management options with the patient and/or family. Coordinates recommendations related to management and/or educational needs with outside agencies and other resources, as appropriate and necessary. Documents above activities in patient's department file and/or hospital medical record. Plans and recommends management for persons with hearing loss or other auditory disorders. Develops goals for patient's habilitative or rehabilitative management with amplification and assistive devices. Recommends hearing aids, cochlear implants, and aural rehabilitation for patients for whom these options are appropriate based upon audiologic and medical evaluation. Maintains proficiency in current techniques to remediate the effects of peripheral hearing loss and other auditory disorders. Reevaluates patient management periodically in order to determine progress and modifying recommendations accordingly.
3. Audiology Consultant- Acts as audiology consultant to educational, medical, and other professional service. Continuously seeks to improve patient care services and evaluates opportunities to develop new services. Coordinates and prioritizes the patient caseload to ensure that all patient services are provided in an efficient manner in order to minimize delay in diagnosis or therapeutic intervention. Provides patient services in a professional manner which maximizes efficiency, efficacy and quality without need for direct supervision. Recommends new services and/or enhanced techniques to Audiology Leadership.
4. Education and Research- Updates professional knowledge and skills. Participates in clinical research and continuing education activities, as requested. Conducts didactic sessions within the department/healthcare network when appropriate.

Summary:
The Neurodiagnostic Techno II performs standard and complex electroneurodiagnostic tests in the Clinical Neurophysiology Lab and polysomnographic testing on patients in the Sleep Disorders Lab. Work may be performed in a lab, clinic, patient bedside, or in the operating room.
Hours: 12 hr night shift
Responsibilities:
1. May provide instruction and guidance to other technologists in the Neurodiagnostic and/or Sleep Disorders Lab.
2. Performs diagnostic patient testing electroencephalogram (EEG), electromyography (EMG), nerve conduction velocities (NCV), sensory evoked potentials (EP), and polysomnographic testing with possible oxygen therapy and continuous positive air pressure treatments (CPAP).

Summary:
This hybrid posting recruits for either a Medical Technologist I (MT I) or a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT), depending on candidate qualifications.

Summary:
Conducts procedures and tests using MRI equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.
Hours: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday 5:00pm-5:30am
Responsibilities:
1. Patient Identification- Uses professional manners and methods, verifies patient identification, obtains patient history, assists patients and family members that require extra attention, insures patient understanding whenever possible, and insures patient safety. Verifies patient identification, asks and documents pregnancy status on patients of child bearing age.
2. MRI Technology- Demonstrates knowledge of MRI and cross-sectional human anatomy. Is competent in the operation of the MRI scanners, proficient in automatic injections of MRI contrast, disc drives, gateways, PACS and laser printers. Maintains active status with ARRT or ARMRIT by accruing CE’s when needed. Interprets protocols and selects appropriate scanning parameters, shares knowledge with fellow MRI technologists and uses technical knowledge to assist in actively trouble shooting problems with respect to equipment and protocols
3. Contrast- Administers oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols, establishes intravenous lines, administers IV contrast following safe and proper injection procedures, follows correct procedure to determine contrast eligibility, checks appropriate lab values before contrast injection per protocol.
4. Image Transfer- Maintains thorough understanding of PACS, and transmits images to QC, UNCH’s EMR, EPIC and PACS, verifies and segments images at the QC station, accesses IMPAX service tools to verify images transmission, completes, modifies and/or cancels orders in an appropriate and timely manner, cancels duplicate orders to avoid duplicate billing. Insures that all charge information is accurate. Verifies patient identification in accordance with UNC policy, insures that all appropriate demographic information is accurate and on the PACS images.
5. Other Duties- Performs task in a timely manner, runs the schedule creating a consistent workflow, volunteers to work on challenging tasks, difficult procedures and new research, produces quality diagnostic images, reviews patient's chart and reports for correlation, maintains a clean and orderly work environment, creates and keeps documentation of incidents as improvement opportunities for employees and the department. ● Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months at time of application.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences, American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists or registry eligible. For registry eligible candidates: must provide a copy of diploma from accredited program.
● Requires advanced certification in MR within one year of employment.
● Successful candidates must become registered within one year of employment and must maintain their registry status and continuing education requirements annually.
● All imaging specialists are required to maintain current competency in HCP BLS.

Summary:
Performs a variety of patient testing and administrative tasks in support of the clinical activities in the UNCHCS.
This position performs product modification such as making syringe aliquots for neonates, deglycerolizing and washing RBC’s. This position irradiates and issues products for transfusion, splits blood products, thaws frozen products, pools cryoprecipitate, receives products from the supplier, returns non-transfused products, and transports products to Carolina Air Care (CAC). This position also performs routine pretransfusion serological tests such as ABO/Rh Grouping, Antibody Detection and Identification, Crossmatching, and, Phenotyping. This lab also routinely performs Direct Antiglobulin Tests, and Fetal Bleed Screening Tests. This position also performs advanced testing and analyses to help in the diagnosis and treatment of certain diseases. Some examples of these tests include various adsorptions, elutions, titrations, separations and neutralizations.

1. Investigates problems with equipment, test results, specimens, and/or workflow.
2. May participate on teams or perform special projects/assignments.
3. May perform teaching of Clinical Laboratory Science students and Pathology residents and training of new employees. May serve as a technical resource.
4. Performs quality control and equipment maintenance in the appropriate laboratory.
5. Performs routine and less standardized test procedures which includes special chemical, microscopic and bacteriologic laboratory tests. Observes tests and reactions and provides data.
6. Prepares specimens and reagents, solutions, heat, or filters as required.
