    Job Description

    Maintain general building and facility electrical equipment in good working order.Perform preventive maintenance, and limited duties associated with plant building, and process equipment.  In addition to the electrical duties, the maintenance electrician must be able to perform hydraulic, plumbing, and light mechanical repairs to equipment, machinery, and building. Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems and industrial equipment such as motors, starters, relays, solid state circuitry electro-mechanical components, AC and DC solid state drives or PLC's.Read and interpret electrical schematics; understand, test and troubleshoot motor and other types of controls; and be able to troubleshoot, repair, replace and upgrade all types of electrical circuits.

    Job Description

    Ulbrich’s Specialty Strip Mill in Wallingford, CT. has an opening for an Electrical/Mechanical shift repair person. In this position you will be responsible to diagnose, and repair diversified electrical, hydraulic and mechanical systems in a manner that provides ongoing service for production machinery and plant facilities to avoid prolonged shutdown of production.

    Qualifications

    Qualified candidates will possess the following:

    At least 3 years of related work experience installing, troubleshooting and repairing Industrial Automation Control Systems;Education: High School or GED  (Vocational Trade Certifications a plus);Available for 2nd shift work;Strong mechanical aptitude and PC skills;Understanding of Hydraulic systems and operations;Ability to read, write, problem solve and perform advanced math calculations;Ability to read wiring diagrams and blue prints;Ability to use diversified electrical and mechanical tests and troubleshooting equipment and devises;Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) experience; and AC and DC motor and drive knowledge.

    Job Description

    We are currently looking for an Electrical Maintenance Technician to become part of our team at Ulbrich Precision Alloys located in New Bedford, MA. Our Electrical Maintenance Technicians are part of a highly skilled team that is critical to ensuring equipment and systems are fully operational for continuous production and to consistently meet production goals.

    As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for performing electrical maintenance on a variety of equipment and systems including motors, controls, power supplies, AC/DC theory, power distribution, PLC's, hydraulics/pneumatics, lubrication, power transmission, pumps, cranes, and mobile equipment.

    In order to become successful, you’ll have to quickly learn Ulbrich Precision Alloys, our manufacturing equipment/systems, and our maintenance program.  A successful Electrical Maintenance Technician is a problem-solver and is strong with troubleshooting and determining corrective action, installing, repairing and maintaining a wide variety of electrical and electronic systems.

    Other Responsibilities Include:

    Follow all safety practices and rules to ensure equipment is operating in a safe manner.Perform preventative, predictive and emergency electrical maintenance on a variety of electrical and electronic systems.Implement process improvements and methods that will increase effectiveness and efficiencies.Use of standard and specialized tools and diagnostic equipment to properly assess and troubleshoot issues.Interpret electrical schematics, understanding technical manuals, and following written instructions.Maintain accurate records of projects including machine assembly, start up and installation.Participate in daily meetings, prioritizing and reviewing the daily schedule of work.Operate fork lift trucks, man lifts, and cranes.

    As an Electrical Maintenance Technician, you will be required to work in a variety of plant areas, departments and environmental conditions, and perform work at various heights and within some confined spaces. Based on the need, overtime may be available including other shifts and weekends.  As part of pre-employment, an electrical maintenance skills assessment will be conducted. 

    Qualifications

    High School Diploma or GED and at least three years of experience performing electrical system and machine maintenance in a manufacturing and industrial environment or an Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Engineering Technology or other electrical program.A current Massachusetts Journeyman's Electrical LicenseExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving capability.Strong communication skill with the ability to work collaboratively and effectively with cross-functional teams.Self-motivated, highly organized and able to multi-task.Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams.
