    Rotterdam, NY insurance agency seeking Commercial Lines Account Executive to join our team. This candidate should be experienced in commercial insurance and the day-to-day agency operations. Immediate opening available for full-time hybrid position. We offer a competitive salary based upon your experience, flexibility for remote or partially remote access, health insurance, retirement plan with 401K matching, paid holidays and vacation.

    Responsibilities:

    Gather client information and complete applications for new and renewal quotes/policiesRate/Quote all commercial lines of business, new and renewal policies, using carrier websites or submit for quotingPrepare proposals and propose new business and renewal quotesEnsure accuracy of account information on new and renewal policies, endorsements, and auditsProvide excellent customer service, fielding customer phone calls/visits, answering questions, processing payments, or reporting claims to carriersProcess policy change requests and issue certificates, binders, insurance cardsMaintain customer files with proper records, according to carrier guidelines

    Experience with an agency management system is a plus. We currently use EVO.

    Requirements:

    Valid NYS P&C License (Required)Commercial Insurance 2 years (Required)General computer knowledge and skillsExperience with carrier websitesTime management along with the ability to multi-task with attention to detail while providing excellent customer service is a must.

    Position Summary:

    We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Director of Human Resources to join our Human Resources team. This role is responsible for supporting a wide range of HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and performance management. The ideal candidate is a people-first professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about fostering a positive workplace culture.


     

    Key Responsibilities:

     

    Recruitment & Onboarding

    o   Partners with department managers to understand and execute the organization’s human resource and talent strategy particularly as it relates to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.

     

    o   Collaborate with management to maintain up-to-date job descriptions and job postings. Work closely with department managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

     

    Manage the administration of the talent acquisition process, which includes full-cycle recruitment: job postings, screening, interviewing, and hiring.Assist in the benefit administration to include scheduling new hire benefits orientation, answering employee questions, and partnering with PEO to communicate open enrollment.Coordinate and conduct new hire orientations and onboarding processes.

     

     

     

    HR Administration

    o   Oversee HR Administration of employee life cycle from onboarding (i.e., offer letters, I-9 verification, background checks and drug screens, enrollment in Insperity Premier platform, new hire benefits orientation, and payroll data entry, etc. through offboarding (i.e. termination, exit interview, timely data entry of termination date, notification of employee separation to internal and external teams, etc.).

     

    o   Responsible for the organization and administration of employee engagement and recognition programs (i.e., years of service, birthday recognition, company activities committee.)

     

    o   Coordinate with the employee, manager, and PEO Leave Administration Team on all FMLA and other LOA.

     

    o   Review and respond to all workers’ compensation claims with appropriate documentation.

    Ensure accurate and up-to-date employee records are maintained.Prepare HR reports and metrics as needed.Employee RelationsServe as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns.Support conflict resolution and promote a positive work environment.Provide support and guidance to staff with general HR and payroll questions that arise; administer and execute routine tasks in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodation, notify management of any allegations of wrongdoingBenefits & CompensationAssist with benefits enrollment, changes, and employee communications.Support payroll processing and ensure accuracy of employee data.Compliance & PolicyEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations and recommended best practices by ensuring appropriate employment posters are posted throughout the building and offices.Assist in the development and enforcement of HR policies and procedures.

     

    Performance & DevelopmentSupport performance review cycles and employee development initiatives.Champion learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees. Track and report on training completion and effectivenessHelp coordinate training sessions and employee engagement activities.


     

    Qualifications:

     

    o    Related human resource administrative experience or equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.

    o    Ten plus years of HR experience, preferably in a generalist capacity.

    o    Strong knowledge of federal, state and local laws affecting employment and employee benefits.

    o   Demonstrated experience with various HR tasks including recruiting (reviewing resumes, selecting for interviews, offers).

     

    o   Onboarding - creating a positive and welcoming candidate experience.

     

    o   Experience with HR documentation (employee files, compliance documents, training), filing and auditing for compliance. Exit interviews, and employee engagement activities.

     

    o    Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism

    o   Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.

     

    o   Effective problem-solving skills.

     

    o   Excellent time management, attention to detail, and organizational skills. Ability to handle multiple competing priorities.

     

    o    HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
