TITLE: Licensed Practical Nurse

Exceptional Education Department DUTIES: Perform 1:1 routine nursing service in the care of a student with special needs. Administer medications in accordance with specific instruction. Collect data, perform observations, record blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rate. Administer prescribed treatment to schools according to New York State Education Department guideline. Assigned to medically fragile student in full day special education classroom at BOCES main campus. Work as part of a classroom team. Some travel on school bus trips bay be required. Ability to lift 40 pounds. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS: New York State License and current registration to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse. START DATE: As soon as possible
SALARY RANGE: $31,000 (2024-25 Base Salary) plus additional salary credit for appropriate experience and/or education. Excellent benefits are available.

Maintain health records and complete reports, including Medicaid documentation.
Administer prescribed treatment according to New York State Education Department guidelines. Communicate with BOCES health office, staff and families.
Some travel on school trips may be required.
Ability to lift 40 pounds.
Other duties as assigned.
Residency Waived QUALIFICATIONS: New York State License and current registration to practice as a Registered
Professional Nurse. Special Requirement: Possession of a valid license at time of appointment required. (Position works 7.25 hours/day 36.25 hours/week. 215 days. Works the school calendar
plus 30 days in summer school. Does not accrue additional vacation days.) Certified Position Springboard Program Full Time, 10-month Affiliation: Teachers Association Exceptional Education Department Location: BOCES Smith School DUTIES: Responsible for providing engaging and inquiry-based high school Biology instruction with an eye
toward the implementation of the NYS Next Generation Standards to students in the Springboard middle and high school programs in Exceptional Education. Teacher will have freedom to prioritize content, design curricula and laboratory experiences, and create an instructional space that meets the learning needs of our students. Responsible for case management duties of homeroom and Individualized Education Plans complete with
progress monitoring. Must be a flexible, out of the box thinker who is dedicated to collaboration with colleagues in the program and with vocational programming to prioritize student transition planning. Maintain student records consistent with State and Federal regulations. Perform other duties as required.
This position requires the ability and desire to work with school age students with learning, emotional and
behavioral disabilities 12:1:1 BOCES setting. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be New York State Certified Students with Disabilities 7 12 Generalist OR hold
Permanent NYS Special Education Cert. K-12 AND Statement of Continued Eligibility (or limited extension) in
Biology OR New York State Certified Students with Disabilities 7 12 with dual certification 7-12 Biology.
