What Youll Be DoingProvide one-on-one spiritual support to patients and families, respecting their unique beliefs and values.Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team (IDG) to identify spiritual needs and offer insights during biweekly team meetings.Help connect families to local clergy or spiritual leaders if desired.Offer bereavement support and guidance after a patients passing, continuing to care for the family.Lead or arrange memorial services, funerals, or other liturgical needs as requested.Build a network of local clergy and religious leaders to enhance spiritual resources for patients and families.Maintain detailed, respectful records of your interactions with patients and families.
Who Were Looking ForQualificationsGraduate of an accredited seminary, school of theology, or certified pastoral ministry program.At least 2 years of experience as a chaplain or spiritual counselor, with a preference for hospice or healthcare-related roles.Skills and AttributesCompassionate and adaptable, with an ability to provide nonjudgmental support to people from all walks of life.Strong crisis-response skills, able to offer guidance and calm during emotional and difficult moments.A deep sense of empathy and the ability to truly listen.TransportationA valid drivers license, reliable vehicle, and active auto insurance are required for travel to patient locations.

Location RequirementsYou must currently reside in the U.S. Virgin Islands (St. Thomas or surrounding islands). This position primarily serves St. Thomas, with occasional visits to St. John.Relocation assistance is not provided.
