Job DescriptionJob DescriptionTristate Arthritis & Rheumatology is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Medical Assistant to support our clinical team and ensure high-quality patient care. The Lead Medical Assistant will provide day-to-day leadership to the medical assistant staff, assist providers, and help maintain efficient clinic operations in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and support Medical Assistant staff to ensure consistent clinical workflows
Serve as a primary point of communication between providers, staff, and leadership
Assist physicians and advanced practice providers with patient care and clinical procedures
Coordinate rooming, patient flow, and clinical schedules to optimize efficiency
Ensure compliance with clinical protocols, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
Perform medical assistant duties as needed, including vitals, documentation, injections, and patient education
Participate in training and onboarding of new Medical Assistants
Promote a positive, professional, and team-focused work environment
Required Qualifications
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA or equivalent) – required
Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a clinical setting
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven ability to work well in a team-oriented environment
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
Professional, compassionate, and patient-focused approach to care
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in rheumatology or a specialty practice
Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR/EHR) systems (Epic experience, preferred; but,not required).
