    Tri-City Group is seeking an on-site Electrical Estimator in Cedar Rapids, IA. This position is responsible for identifying, quantifying, and pricing change order work while collaborating closely with project teams, subcontractors, and clients on a mission-critical hyperscale project.

    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

    Review and analyze updated drawings, Bulletins, RFIs, ASIs, field directives, and contract documents to identify scope changesPerform detailed quantity takeoffs based on updated drawings and field conditionsDevelop complete scopes of work for change orders, including labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor requirementsPrice change orders using labor units, historical data, and field-verified productivityApply appropriate labor factors for overtime, shift work, congestion, trade stacking, and schedule accelerationInterface daily with superintendents and foremen to validate installation methods, production rates, and field conditionsTrack and document all change events from identification through execution and final resolutionSolicit, review, and evaluate subcontractor and supplier change order pricingPrepare detailed and organized cost backup to support change order submissions and negotiationsParticipate in change order negotiations with clients and general contractorsMaintain an up-to-date change order log, including pending, approved, and disputed itemsIdentify and quantify schedule-related impacts, including inefficiencies, out-of-sequence work, and accelerationSupport time-and-material (T&M) tracking and validation, including field tickets and installed quantitiesCoordinate closely with project management to align change order strategy with overall project financial goalsProfessionally interact with customers, other trades, general contractors, and internal staffMaintain strong working relationships with field teams and external partners


    Qualifications:

    Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred) or equivalent experienceMinimum 3 years of experience as an Electrical Estimator in construction, contracting, or a related industryStrong knowledge of electrical systems, installation methods, and industry standardsProficiency with estimating software (Accubid, Trimble, Bluebeam, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite
    Required: This position requires working on-site, in Cedar Rapids, IA


    Candidates must possess a strong understanding of electrical systems, installation methods, and construction sequencing, along with proven experience in estimating in electrical construction or a related industry. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented and able to translate field conditions into accurate cost and schedule impacts while meeting tight deadlines.
