    The Safety Manager is responsible for planning, implementing, and enforcing all jobsite safety programs for a commercial construction project in Houston, Texas. This role ensures compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and client safety requirements, while promoting a proactive safety culture across all project personnel and subcontractors.

    Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement, and manage site-specific safety plans in compliance with OSHA, local, state, and federal regulationsConduct daily jobsite safety inspections and hazard assessmentsLead safety orientations for all employees, subcontractors, and visitorsEnforce safety rules and corrective actions when unsafe conditions or behaviors are identifiedCoordinate and document toolbox talks, safety meetings, and training programsInvestigate accidents, incidents, and near misses; prepare detailed reports and corrective action plansMaintain OSHA logs (300/300A/301) and all required safety documentationServe as the primary safety liaison with clients, inspectors, and regulatory agenciesReview subcontractor safety programs, JHAs, and safety documentation prior to work commencingMonitor PPE compliance and jobsite safety practicesSupport emergency response planning and drillsCollaborate with project management to integrate safety into daily operations and schedulesStop work when unsafe conditions exist and ensure corrective measures are implementedQualificationsMinimum 5–10 years of safety experience in commercial constructionStrong knowledge of OSHA standards, particularly construction (29 CFR 1926)Experience managing safety programs on large, multi-trade construction sitesAbility to communicate effectively with field personnel, subcontractors, and managementStrong documentation, reporting, and organizational skillsCertifications (Required or Preferred)OSHA 30 (Required)CHST, CSP, ASP, or equivalent safety certification (Preferred)First Aid / CPR / AED (Required or ability to obtain)HAZWOPER (Preferred, if applicable)Physical RequirementsAbility to walk construction sites, climb ladders, and access active work areasAbility to lift up to 50 pounds as neededAbility to work in varying weather conditions typical to the Houston areaWork AuthorizationMust be authorized to work in the United States and able to provide required employment eligibility documentation without current or future employer sponsorship.
