    Location: Wilmington, NC (Hybrid: min. 4 days onsite per week)

    Job Summary:

    The Project Estimator will build project estimates that include material/equipment and labor costs for TransTech Energy’s construction projects for their customers’ requirements for the storage, transfer and utilization of liquefied gases, such as propane, butane and Liquefied Natural Gas. The qualified candidate will work closely with TransTech’s engineering, business development and sales team to support their development of competitive proposals for various projects throughout TransTech’s service area. Develop costs based on the analysis of project specifications, pricing schedules for labor and materials, as well as historical data. Analyze post-production /project costs and uses data and variances to improve accuracy of future project estimates.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

    · Collaborate with other departments (i.e. Field Services, Engineering, Purchasing and Business Development) to support the needs of creating project estimates along with other project data analysis.

    · Analyze and review required documents, drawings, and project specifications to gain a thorough understanding of the projects' scope of work and customers' needs.

    · Prepare material estimates and cost estimates for the project utilizing company’s Proprietary Estimation Tool.

    · Create labor estimates for projects

    · Create/improve tools and reports in Excel to aid in creating and communicating estimates.

    · Present prepared estimates to management and other stakeholders

    · Manage and prioritize the project pipeline to ensure that deadlines are met.

    · Develop a project-specific Request for Proposal for distribution to subcontractors including, but not limited to, instructions to bidders, contract documents, schedule, bid forms for pricing and schedule, and a list of documents

    · Support project management activities as needed

    · Willingness to be flexible with job responsibilities as this role will continue to develop.

    Competencies:

    · Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, mathematics, statistics, and data analysis

    · Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail

    · Proficiency in quoting mechanical pipe installation.

    · Familiarity with analyzing requirement data to develop material and cost estimates for large projects

    · Expertise with analytic tools, such as Excel spreadsheets and database managers

    · Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills

    · Exceptional time management skills

    · Ability to multitask with multiple estimates being worked on at one time

    Education:

    · Engineering background a plus but not required

    · Technical background a plus but not required

    Travel:

    · Occasional travel to job sites as it is needed to aid in the understanding of larger projects (3-6 trips per year)

    Job description

    Welder II will be qualified on all processes and in all positions for the different processes and on a vast array of material including P1, P8, P10H and nickel alloys. Master welder will be capable and willing to perform all task, without backlash, and in a timely manner, including welding root passes, back gouging, cleanup of back gouge roots, tube to tube joints, tube to tube sheet joints not including QW-193, structural welds, and other pressure retaining welds used in the fabrication of equipment for our customers. Welder II MUST be able to interpret and follow welding procedures.

    Responsibilities:

    Select and safely use appropriate equipment suitable for work being performed.Perform all tasks related to welding.Maintain good housekeeping in work area.Ensure that equipment is properly maintained and properly stored or kept.Communicate with leadership all aspects and phases (safety, productivity, and quality) of work.Check completed work prior to final welding to ensure conformity to specifications.

    Blueprint readingKnowledge of overhead cranes and hand signalsAbility to demonstrate knowledge and skills in safe rigging practicesMust be able to adhere to standards and perform a quality job in a safe manner within an acceptable time.Physical requirements include Bending, squatting, climbing, stooping, twisting, and reaching, standing for long periods of time, lifting 50 pounds maximum with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. May be required to work at heights up to 25 feet.
