Cable Assembler TPI Staffing has an immediate opening for Cable Assemblers in N. Houston. This is a temp to hire position paying $17-$21/hr. depending on experience. First shift 7:00am to 3:30pm. As an Assembler, you will be a part of a team responsible for preparing, assembling, inspecting, and testing cables and connectors used in the rail mass transit industry. This position requires a strong understanding of wiring schematics, technical drawings, and adherence to industry standards to ensure high-quality and reliable assemblies. Responsibilities Prepares work by studying product and process documentation, parts lists, tools and fixtures. Sets up and operates appropriate equipment, tools, and fixtures to cut, prep and trim cable in accordance with specifications. Apply heat shrink tubing, shielding, and protective coatings as required. Assemble connector products following prints, specifications, and work instructions Perform wire stripping and potting (chemical use required) Complete engraving and packaging tasks Conduct electrical testing using supplied equipment Inspect completed assemblies for defects, ensuring compliance with industry standards. Performs appropriate in process inspections and tests such as workmanship, dimensional, and interface gauging in accordance with product and process specifications. Maintains a safe, clean working environment in compliance with policies and procedures. Requirements Previous experience in cable assembly or a related field is required. High School diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of cable assembly, tools, and equipment used in assembly. Direct RF Microwave cable and connector assembly experience a plus. Basic math skills. Computer skills to operate specific programs and access appropriate documentation. Ability to work with electrical and mechanical test and inspection equipment.
