    Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJOB OPPORTUNITY - ACCREDITATION MANAGER SOUTH HILL POLICE DEPARTMENT Are you detail-oriented, mission-driven, and passionate about upholding excellence in law enforcement practices? Join our team as the Accreditation Manager and play a pivotal role in ensuring our department meets and exceeds professional standards.This is your opportunity to manage and grow the police department's accreditation program, maintain compliance with the Virginia Law Enforcement Professional Standards Commission (VLEPSC), and support a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. The Town of South Hill Police Department is hiring for an Accreditation Manager, who will:Lead the department's state accreditation program, ensuring policies and procedures align with current VLEPSC standards, legislation, and judicial rulings.Research, write, and maintain department policies and forms, managing all associated documentation and accreditation files.Conduct regular audits, mock assessments, and reviews to verify and improve compliance.Serve as the department's liaison with VLEPSC and VALEAC, representing us in professional forums and providing informative presentations.Train staff on accreditation-related topics and changes to law enforcement best practices.Monitor legislative changes and adjust internal documentation and standards as needed.We're seeking a highly organized and strategic individual with:Excellent communication and presentation skills.Deep understanding of Virginia law enforcement operations and accreditation standards.Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.Ability to manage long-term projects with minimal supervision and collaborate across departments.Preferred QualificationsExperience managing a VLEPSC accreditation program.Proficiency with platforms like PowerDMS.Background in compliance auditing, policy writing, or records management.Prior service as a VLEPSC assessor or similar role.Why Join Us?Be a driving force behind professional integrity in public safety.Collaborate with dedicated public servants in a mission-focused environment.Enjoy a stable career with opportunities for professional growth and training.
