The store manager is a role model who is dedicated to coaching and motivating their team. Our store managers spend the majority of their time on the floor working alongside their team and training on product knowledge and guest delight.
Here's what you'll do in a typical week...
Lead by example on the sales floor, delivering outstanding guest delightDrive sales performance and promote key productsEnsure every guest interaction reflects Tomlinson's brand standardsHire, train, and coach a strong, guest-focused teamProvide ongoing performance feedback and developmentIdentify and develop future leadersOversee scheduling, payroll accuracy, and daily store operationsMaintain consistent communication with leadership and headquarters partnersEnsure compliance with Tomlinson's policies and proceduresMaintain accurate inventory and ensure the store is fully stockedOversee ordering, receiving, and cycle countsPartner with inventory team to resolve discrepanciesEnsure the store is clean, organized, and aligned with Tomlinson's brand standardsSupport merchandising efforts to drive sales and enhance the guest experienceStay informed on industry trends and product knowledgeContribute ideas to keep product offerings relevant and competitiveRequirements
At least 3 years of previous leadership experience.Lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis in order to stock the store and to do carry-outs for customers. We are seeking a Store Manager who shares Tomlinson's values and believes in our mission.
The Store Manager is a role model who is dedicated to coaching and motivating their team. Our Store Managers spend the majority of their time on the floor working alongside their team and training on product knowledge and customer delight. Tomlinson's Store Managers are paid hourly and annual compensation starts at $50,000 per year with overtime pay, plus monthly bonuses.
Here's what you'll do in a typical week...
Sales Floor Operations: Is a constant presence on the sales floor helping customers. Is actively selling Tomlinson's core products and working hard to always hit sales goals.
Spends the vast majority of his/her time on the sales floor:Building rapport with both customers and sales staff.Assuring that customer service and satisfaction exceeds our clients' expectationsActing as an example and coach to sales staff.Monitoring and appraising job performance of sales staff.Advocates for Tomlinson's core products and place emphasis on these over others.Promotes, maintains the company's reputation, culture & vision while building relationships among customers & staff.Staff Development: Manages a staff that meets Tomlinson's Brand Standards
Builds a team of hard-working and dedicated staff.Maintains the skills and well-being of current staff with motivational incentives and appropriate evaluations.Ensures his/her staff has the customer service skills & product knowledge to provide the highest levels of service.Maintains operations by training staff according to the company's operational procedures and personnel policies and by consistently enforcing them.Develops, coaches, counsels & disciplines employees in order that each may reach their peak performance. Tomlinson's likes to promote from within. SM's should identify & develop those who are capable of advancement.Creates weekly work schedule, keeping total employee hours within an appropriate range.Reports time clock changes to corporate office by assigned deadline.Fosters respect and cooperation with company policies and procedures by leading with integrity and poise.Maintains Inventory: Keeps the store fully in-stock at all times.
Ensures specialty orders are accurate and submitted on time.Maintains an accurate digital inventory in order for the shelves to be constantly full of merchandise by performing cycles counts and ensuring that product is received according to company procedures.Communicates inventory discrepancies to Inventory Manager and Inventory Coordinator.Store Appearance: Ensures store's always aesthetically in compliance with Tomlinson's Brand Standards
Maintains an aesthetically appealing store by keeping it well lit, well stocked, clean and clutter-free, and by making sure it is a warm and welcoming place to shop.Maintains an inspection-ready store at all times.Works under the direction of the Merchandising Manager to keep inventory visually appealing, merchandised to maximize sales, and featuring core products.Corporate Communications: In constant communication with General Manager and other Headquarters staff regarding store operations & needs.
Communicates pertinent information in a timely manner to the District Manager or appropriate corporate employee to make sure issues are dealt with.Attends monthly managers meetings.Writes and publishes weekly schedules to always ensure proper store coverage.Ensures store deposits are safely transported to the bank each Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.Sends weekly recap to District Manager and attends a weekly 10-minute alignment call.Industry Expertise: Store Managers are students of the industry & are actively keeping Tomlinson's relevant to customers and on the leading edge of industry developments.
Is knowledgeable about new industry trends and is plugged into and enthusiastic about the pet industry.Informs Merchandising Manger regarding new products that seem to be a fit with Tomlinson's values and brand standards.Requirements
