    TMCI is seeking a DevOps Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in automating our CI/CD pipelines and supporting data engineering efforts. This role requires professional experience in standing up DevOps infrastructure, implementing CI/CD pipelines, and optimizing data engineering workflows. The ideal candidate will work within an Agile Scrum team, collaborating with data engineers and software developers to enhance the automation, efficiency, and reliability of our data pipelines and cloud infrastructure.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Design, build, and manage CI/CD pipelines to support continuous integration, deployment, and automation of data engineering workflowsAutomate deployment processes for data pipelines and applicationsMonitor and optimize system performance, ensuring high availability and fault toleranceSupport data engineers in building, deploying, and optimizing data pipelines for batch and real-time processingAutomate data pipeline deployments using CI/CD toolsOptimize data workflows, ensuring efficient ETL/ELT processes in cloud and on-prem environments.Implement monitoring and logging for data pipelines, ensuring reliability and proactive issue resolutionCollaborate with data engineers to streamline development and deployment processes using DevOps best practicesParticipate as an active member of an Agile Scrum team, contributing to sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectivesWork closely with developers, data engineers, and product teams to understand infrastructure and automation needsProvide technical guidance on best practices for CI/CD, DevOps, and cloud infrastructure management.Contribute to the design, documentation, and continuous improvement of DevOps and data engineering processes

    Required Qualifications:

    U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DOD clearance requiredBachelor’s degree in computer science or a related fieldCandidates local to the DMV (DC Metro, Southern MD, Northern VA) preferred, however all qualified CONUS-based candidates will be considered5+ years of experience in DevOps, CI/CD automation, and cloud infrastructure managementExperience setting up and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD or similar toolsExperience with integrating automated testing (unit, integration, performance, and security testing) into CI/CD pipelines to ensure software and data pipeline reliabilityExperience with test automation frameworks (e.g., PyTest, Selenium, JUnit) for CI/CD pipelinesProfessional experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)Experience working with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and KubernetesStrong scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell for automation and deploymentHands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, or CloudWatch)Familiarity with data pipeline orchestration using tools like Apache Airflow, AWS Step Functions, or PrefectExperience with SQL and ETL/ELT data engineering workflowsExperience with version control systems (Git, GitHub, GitLab) and branching strategiesStrong understanding of networking, security, and IAM in cloud environmentsExperience with Agile Scrum methodology

    Desired Qualifications:

    Experience in distributed data processing frameworks (Apache Spark, PySpark, AWS Glue)Familiarity with serverless computing (AWS Lambda, Azure Functions, or GCP Cloud Functions)Experience in monitoring data pipeline performance and implementing observability best practicesHands-on experience with MLops and data engineering workflowsAWS, Azure, Kubernetes certifications are highly desirable

    Job Description:

    The TMCI Data Quality Group is seeking a talented and experienced Mid and Senior Level Data Engineers to join our dedicated team. As a Healthcare IT Data Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines, databases, and analytics solutions that support data-driven decision-making and patient care improvements in the healthcare industry. This position requires a thorough understanding of modern data warehousing concepts like data lakes and data lakehouses. The ideal candidate will be familiar with data modeling techniques such as Data Vault and Star Schema, and should be proficient in building, testing, and implementing data pipelines. They should also have experience with products like DBT and understand Directed Acyclic Graphs (DAGs). This role is within a government context requiring U.S. citizenship, a college degree, and eligibility to obtain a security clearance.

     

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Data Integration and ETL:

    Design and build data integration pipelines for collecting, cleansing, and transforming healthcare data from various sources, including electronic health records (EHR), medical devices, and clinical systems.

    2. Database Management:

    Develop and maintain healthcare databases, ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and compliance with industry standards and regulations, including HIPAA.

    3. Data Architecture:

    Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and healthcare professionals to design data architectures that enable advanced analytics, machine learning, and reporting.

    4. Optimization and Performance:

    Continuously optimize data processing and storage systems for enhanced performance and scalability, enabling real-time data access and analytics.

    5. Data Security and Compliance:

    Implement robust data security measures to protect sensitive patient information, adhere to healthcare compliance standards, and perform routine audits.

    6. Data Warehousing:

    Develop and maintain data warehousing solutions for efficient storage, retrieval, and analysis of large healthcare datasets.

    7. Data Documentation:

    Create and maintain documentation for data models, data dictionaries, and data lineage to support transparency and data governance.

    8. Collaboration:

    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, clinicians, and IT professionals, to ensure data infrastructure meets healthcare data requirements.

     

    Required Qualifications:
