Responsibilities:Constructs and repairs items such as boxes, crates, pallets, and storage bins from wood and wood substitutes. Studies specifications, measures, marks, and cuts boards, using patterns, templates, rulers, pencils, and hand and power saws. Fastens or installs parts using a hammer, nailing machine, or power staple; Repairs defective containers by replacing damaged parts, and inserting wood bracings, cardboard files, and felt pads in containers. May build a crate around an object using a ruler, hand tools, and a pneumatic nail gun.May fabricate, repair, modify, and replace woodwork on vehicle sides and beds, and apply preservatives to prolong wood life.May pack, seal, band, and apply markings to crates and containers.Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.Consistently produces quality products and services. Completes all training within the required timeline. Performs all work in a safe and secure manner. Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements:Up to 2 years of related experience is required. High School Diploma is required.Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.Must maintain licenses and/or credentials required for this position. Ability to speak, read, and write English. Must possess the ability to interact well with others in a team setting ability or alone and be able to change jobs on short notice. Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities. Work Schedule is a 9/80: 80 hours over 9 days, with every other Friday off. (Mon - Thur is 9 hours, every other Fri is 8 hours)Highly motivated, flexible organized and must be detail oriented. Strong customer service and interpersonal skills. Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite. Must have practical knowledge of worksite safety, occupational hazards, and standard safety practices. Must be able to perform duties under adverse weather conditions (extreme cold / heat, etc.). Outside work in winter, summer, rain, sleet, and snow and on uneven terrain – side hills and slopes. Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the customer's mission requirements, including weekends and holidays. Must be able to perform on-call duties when necessary and report to work within the required timeframe from notification. Must have and maintain a valid state driver’s license to operate a company vehicle. Must have a safe driving record, as defined by Company policy, to operate a company vehicle. Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
