Please note that this is a union position and hourly rate is depends on years of experience based on the union scale. Full time hours available-evenings/nights/weekends preferred.
Under general supervision of the MRI Manager, and following established policies and procedures, operates a magnetic resonance scanner to obtain images for use by physicians in diagnoses and treatment of pathologies. The technologist provides technical and ancillary support to the department mission through demonstrated clinical and academic competency in MRI. Clinical and academic competency is defined as completing training and meeting all clinical responsibilities to all areas assigned, ability to work unsupervised in the clinical setting, willingness to rotate to all areas as the need arises, and holding appropriate registration and advanced certification, as required by the ARRT, and the ACR.
Requirements:
Must be a graduate of an approved school that fulfills the ARRT requirements for primary or secondary pathway education in CT/MRI. Must be ARRT registered, with MRI designation. BLS required. MRI specific classroom experience a plus.Experience:
Knowledge of cross sectional anatomy and medical terminology with the analytical skills to effectively utilize knowledge towards imaging processes, techniques and procedures. Working knowledge of Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Hospital Information Systems (HIS). Ability to rely on experience, judgment and time management skills to plan and accomplish goals. Must present a positive, team oriented attitude and a professional appearance. Ability to adhere to safety standards set forth by the Radiology Department, BMC and other regulatory agencies. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to interact effectively with patients and all/any apprehensions, to instruct students and to interact with other staff technologists. Ability to work cooperatively with members of the healthcare delivery team and staff, ability to handle frequent interruptions and adapt to changes in workload and work schedule; to set priorities and solve problems; to respond quickly to emergency requests.

Job Description
The successful candidate should be able to perform ALL of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the actual job performance requirements.
Conducts psychological screenings and assessments based on review of available records, and clinical interviews with inmates. As part of a mental health team, confers with other clinical staff, e.g., psychiatrists, mental health service providers, physicians, nurses, social workers, in order to gather and provide information concerning patient psychological problems, to ensure treatment activities are well integrated, and patient care follow-through occurs. Provides treatment to inmates by developing, implementing, and modifying individual treatment plans based on evaluation of needs and level of functioning. Makes regular rounds in segregation or other confined housing areas to assess inmate adjustment and mental health treatment needs. Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques by way of treatments and activities used for individuals in caseload. Provides appropriate mental health assessments, counseling, and confrontation avoidance interventions to address the needs of inmates in crisis. Consults with psychiatry, mental health, nursing, medical, educational, chaplain, security staff, and others, as applicable to gather information and understanding into the reasons for the escalation of problems behaviors and changes in mental health condition of inmates.Employment Type: Full Time
