    Tierra Del Sol Foundation is seeking a dedicated and motivated Project Search Core Direct Support Professional to support interns enrolled in the Project Search Program. This role focuses on providing career development education, employment training within a medical setting, and ongoing skill-building support to individuals with developmental disabilities.

    The Direct Support Professional will serve as an educator, mentor, advocate, and liaison between interns, their families, regional center counselors, and Kaiser Permanente personnel. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, professional, and passionate about helping individuals succeed in competitive employment settings.

    Job Responsibilities Intern Training & Professional Development

    Design and present monthly PowerPoint presentations and lesson plans focused on: job readiness, workplace safety, professionalism, communication skills, employment success strategiesMonitor and support interns to ensure expectations for grooming, professionalism, and workplace behavior are met.Provide individualized coaching and support throughout internship placements.

    Hospital Networking & Internship Development

    Build relationships with hospital departments to identify opportunities for new internship placements.Conduct outreach to departments, families, and stakeholders to support intern success.Develop internship tasks tailored to interns’ skills and abilities.Create detailed step-by-step task analyses for internship assignments.

    Project Search Events & Portfolio Development

    Design flyers, invitations, and communications for Project Search events.Coordinate two annual social events to celebrate intern accomplishments and build relationships.Support the development and maintenance of digital portfolios for interns with communication barriers.

    Graduate Placement & Job Retention Support

    Provide on-site support to interns transitioning into employment within Kaiser Permanente.Assess work environments and develop tools or strategies to promote long-term success and independence.Update floaters and covering staff with schedules, task analyses, and support strategies.Utilize creative problem-solving to adapt tasks to interns’ strengths and support needs.

    Schedule

    37 hours per weekTypical schedule: Monday - Friday between 7:30 AM – 4:00 PMSome weekend availability may be required.30-minute unpaid lunch when not actively supporting clients (working lunch agreement may apply)

    Qualifications

    Minimum of 1 year experience leading classes, workshops, or educational training.Experience developing, implementing, and modifying curriculum based on learner needs.Bilingual (Spanish) is requiredPrevious management or supervisory experience preferred.Proficiency with: Google Docs, Google Slides, Microsoft Excel, Canva and Digital content creation toolsReliable transportation required for travel between multiple job sites.

    Position Summary

    Tierra del Sol is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Development Officer (CDO) to lead all fundraising and development efforts. Reporting directly to the CEO and serving on the senior leadership team, the CDO will oversee fundraising strategy, major gifts, corporate and foundation partnerships, annual giving, donor stewardship, special events, and development operations while supervising a three-person Development team.

    Key ResponsibilitiesLead and manage all fundraising activities, including major gifts, annual giving, corporate and foundation relations, planned giving, and special events.Cultivate, solicit, and steward major donors and funding partners.Develop and implement annual fundraising goals and long-term development strategies.Provide support and reporting to the Board of Directors and Resource Committee.Oversee donor communications, marketing initiatives, and fundraising campaigns.Supervise Development Department staff and ensure effective department operations.Manage fundraising events, donor engagement activities, and community outreach efforts.Monitor department budgets, donor databases, and stewardship programs.QualificationsBachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.5–7 years of progressive fundraising and development experience.Minimum 3 years of management and staff supervision experience.Proven success securing and cultivating major gifts.Strong leadership, communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills.Valid California Driver's License, reliable transportation, and current auto insurance.Ability to pass DOJ Live Scan, TB test, and pre-employment physical.Additional RequirementsAbility to attend occasional evening and weekend events.Commitment to Tierra del Sol's mission of supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.Experience working with Boards of Directors, donor relations, and fundraising campaigns preferred.

    The Workforce Development Direct Support Professional with Behavioral Support Component is expected to become familiar with all of the associates he/she serves so that he/she can make valuable contributions to Productive and Personally Meaningful Life (PPML)/Individual PATH/ Rehabilitation/ Habilitation/Service Plans, Person-Centered Planning meetings and Circle of Support meetings. The DSPs with Behavioral Support are expected to be well-versed in Positive Behavioral Supports.


    Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


    Provide small group and one-on-one training of individuals in specific job skills and general work behaviors.

    Ensure that all assigned job duties are consistently completed according to employer standards and expectations.

    Maintain regular communication with employers regarding their satisfaction with employee performance, work schedules and quality assurance.

    Conduct job analysis in cooperation with employers.

    Provide supervision and training to associates in community access skills.

    Provide supervision and training to associates in self-advocacy and social/leisure skills.

    Provide mobility training.

    Assist associates in accessing a variety of community locations using company/personal vehicles/public transportation.

    Effectively and consistently implement behavior support plans; encouraging and reinforcing positive replacement behaviors.

    Consistently implement behavioral reinforcement plans to increase associate success.

    Maintain conscientious, responsible level of supervision of associate behavior/safety at all times, including scheduled break, lunch and bus duty.

    Demonstrate an understanding of the “big picture” and long-term outcomes for associates, with an understanding that an intensive intervention process may need to be implemented, rather than settling for a “quick fix”.


    This position is currently scheduled at 35-37 hours per week. Typical projected work hours for this position are 7:45 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. For this position, staff will have a 30 minute working lunch when actively supporting associates. A working lunch agreement will be on file. These hours and duties are subject to change.



    Qualifications:

    Three years of good driving experience, a valid California driver’s license, personal vehicle with seatbelts to safely accommodate up to 4 passengers, and vehicle insurance is also required. Candidate must have a sincere desire to help others be successful. Current certification in CPR/First Aid & Handle with Care Training. (We will provide)Must successfully complete 40 hours of Positive Behavioral Support training. (We will provide)
    High School Diploma or higher. A Bachelor’s degree in the field of Social Service/Rehabilitation is a plus.

    Experience in providing training/support to individuals with developmental disabilities a plus.

    Must demonstrate a working knowledge of task analysis/assessment/positive behavior supports and clear written and verbal communication skills.
