    Position Overview

    We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Addictions Counselor or Counselor Trainee to support clients enrolled in our Intensive Outpatient (IOP), Outpatient (OP), Partial Hospitalization (PHP), and residential treatment programs.

    In this role, you'll provide counseling, develop individualized treatment plans, monitor client progress, and help individuals build the tools they need for long-term recovery.

    What You'll Do

    • Manage an assigned caseload of clients throughout the treatment process

    • Complete intake assessments and participate in the admissions process

    • Develop individualized treatment plans within seven days of admission

    • Provide individual and group substance use counseling

    • Deliver alcohol and drug education to clients

    • Monitor client progress and update treatment plans as needed

    • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client documentation

    • Coordinate and document random urinalysis testing in accordance with state and federal regulations

    • Participate in weekly clinical supervision and team meetings

    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to support successful client outcomes

    • Maintain compliance with all agency, state, and federal standards

    Qualifications

    • Licensed, certified, approved, or permitted by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists (or authorized under Maryland Health Occupations regulations to provide substance abuse treatment)

    • Current CPR and First Aid Certification (or ability to obtain)

    • Ability to successfully pass criminal background and CPS screening

    • Strong written documentation and communication skills

    Therapeutic Wellness Services is seeking compassionate and dependable Recovery Support Specialists to provide evening support for adults participating in our Substance Abuse Residential Housing Program.

    This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone interested in building a career in behavioral health, human services, social work, or substance abuse recovery. You'll help create a safe, structured, and supportive environment while encouraging residents as they develop the skills needed for long-term recovery and independent living.

    What You'll Do

    • Create a safe, supportive, and therapeutic residential environment during evening hours

    • Serve as a positive role model while building supportive relationships with residents

    • Assist residents with daily living skills, including meal preparation, housekeeping, budgeting, grocery shopping, and personal hygiene

    • Encourage residents as they work toward recovery and greater independence

    • Monitor resident behavior, progress, and medication compliance, reporting concerns to supervisors

    • Document daily activities, observations, and resident progress accurately

    • Provide crisis intervention and notify supervisors of emergencies when necessary

    • Transport residents to appointments, community activities, and other approved locations

    • Plan and participate in recreational, educational, and life skills activities

    • Maintain household supplies and report maintenance needs

    • Work collaboratively with the clinical team to provide quality client care

    Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required

    • Previous experience in behavioral health, human services, caregiving, customer service, or working with people is helpful but not required

    • At least one year of experience driving a 15-passenger van is preferred

    • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no moving violations within the past three years)

    • Current automobile insurance

    • Current CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain

    • Ability to pass criminal background and CPS background checks

    • Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills

    • Comfortable using Microsoft Office, GPS, and navigation software
