    Job DescriptionJob DescriptionOverviewMediaDC and its associated companies are seeking a Digital Compliance Manager to oversee our compliance efforts, ensuring our portfolio of companies and their websites meet all regulatory, industry, and corporate standards. The ideal candidate thrives on identifying risks, building strong cross-functional partnerships, and transforming compliance into practical, scalable solutions.
    This role is about more than just policies—it’s about driving real impact by providing expert guidance, designing and implementing smart controls, and fostering trust across teams to make compliance a seamless part of how we work.
    You’ll play a key role in safeguarding compliance across websites, accessibility, and digital communication. Under the management of the corporate CISO and by partnering with our corporate and sister company teams, you’ll simplify compliance processes to ensure our online presence aligns with privacy laws, accessibility, and other regulatory standards to mitigate risks related to data privacy and security.  This role will strengthen our overall governance framework and minimize exposure to regulatory violations, security breaches, and third-party litigation. Your expertise will bring clarity and confidence to the complex landscape of digital compliance.ResponsibilitiesCompliance Leadership & Risk ManagementProvide leadership and direction in the development of compliance strategies, systems, processes, and controls aligned with MediaDC’s strategic direction and growth.Engage cross-functional teams with urgency, empathy, and clarity—translating regulatory complexity into actionable guidance.Drive compliance as an integrated, user-friendly part of digital and business operations.Establish and track key metrics to support continuous improvement and audit readiness.Conduct and lead risk assessments to identify, evaluate, and mitigate compliance risks.Oversee internal controls to meet compliance requirements while supporting operational agility.Serve as a trusted advisor to Legal, Corporate, IT, Marketing, and Editorial teams, minimizing compliance friction.Remediate internal audit findings through scalable and practical solutions.Domestic travel may be required.Additional responsibilities as assigned.Champion Digital Compliance and AccessibilityChampion and facilitate the implementation of our newly developed corporate Enterprise Privacy Standards (EPS) amongst our publications focusing on data governance, notice and consent, third-party & processor management, privacy impact assessments, training and awareness, and recordkeeping and accountability.Lead and maintain compliance across each of our companies, websites, ensuring adherence to GDPR, CCPA, ADA, WCAG, and other national and state-level applicable standards with regard to data protection, privacy, and emerging AI technologies.Maintain a current inventory of our publications’ digital properties with consistent compliance monitoring focusing on our websites, online advertising, subscriptions, data usage, and cybersecurity.Manage the implementation and maintenance of the consent management platform (e.g., OneTrust), in collaboration with Legal and Marketing.Perform manual and automated audits of websites to identify and prioritize compliance updates including compliance related to media operations and copyright adherence. Audit company contracts to ensure data privacy addendums are present and current.Partner with technical and editorial teams to ensure compliance and innovation go hand-in-hand.Maintain up-to-date documentation and training that empowers teams to build compliant solutions.Collaborate across departments to ensure accurate, compliant digital experiences.Educate, Elevate & Stay Ahead of the CurveDesign and deliver training to promote compliance awareness across departments.Monitor regulatory changes and industry best practices, proactively adjusting compliance programs.Participate in enterprise-wide discussions regarding policy standards, legal guidance, and best practices.Address internal and external compliance inquiries with clarity and confidence.Present findings and insights to leadership to shape long-term compliance strategy.Ensure vendors and third parties align with our compliance standards and ensure privacy contracts are present.________________________________________

    Who You AreA practical problem solver with deep regulatory knowledge and a collaborative spirit.A clear communicator who simplifies legal requirements for all stakeholders and can confidently present and report to executive leadership.You make compliance accessible and intuitive—not just enforceable.Strategic and adaptive, comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity.You’re passionate about digital safety, privacy, and accessibility.Required Skills2+ years in compliance, digital risk, or related fields with web/digital focus.Hands-on, operational mindset with experience building cross-functional solutions.Knowledge of digital compliance standards (GDPR, CCPA, ADA, WCAG).Ability to create and communicate company policies and procedures.Experience in auditing company digital assets and contracts.Experience managing consent tools like OneTrust and cookie compliance solutions.Strong ability to translate legal/compliance requirements into real-world practices.Effective working with legal, IT, marketing, and editorial teams.Proven ability to create training, documentation, and scalable compliance processes.Preferred QualificationsExperience in the media industry or supporting digital publishing environments.Knowledge of digital compliance issues as they relate to media including advertising, circulation, customer PII, and copyright.Familiarity with OneTrust modules and consent workflows.Past experience working closely with legal counsel on digital compliance operations.Certifications such as the Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) and/or Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPPO).Media DC is a subsidiary of Clarity Media Group, a media holding company that publishes newspapers, magazines, and websites including the Pulitzer Prize winning Colorado Springs Gazette, the Denver Gazette, Colorado Politics, and the Washington Examiner. The salary range for this position is $100,000k to $120,000k per year.
