    Assistant Professor (Women's Gender Sexuality Studies) The Department of Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of Massachusetts Boston invites applications for a tenure track assistant position beginning September 1, 2026. This position will support our undergraduate minor in Queer and Transgender Studies. We are seeking a scholar-educator with expertise in Black Feminisms, Black Queer Studies, Black Trans Studies, Queer of Color Critique, Indigenous Studies, and/or Transnational Feminisms. The standard teaching load for research-active tenure track faculty is two courses per semester, including courses in the candidate's area of specialization in addition to rotating responsibility for required courses in the minor. Responsibilities also include advising students in the WGS major and Queer and Trans Studies minor. Must have a Ph.D. in hand or expected by August 2026, in a relevant discipline in the humanities, social sciences, or related transdisciplinary fields. Candidates with graduate training in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and/or a strong interdisciplinary background are preferred.     Description: The School Counseling (SC) program at the University of Massachusetts Boston seeks an equity minded lecturer (non-tenure track) to join the Counseling, School Psychology, and Sport Department within the College of Education and Human Development. Responsibilities include: (1) teach graduate level courses; (2) advise graduate students; (3) assist in the recruitment and selection of new students; and 4) contribute service to the University's urban mission, to University and Departmental committees, and to professional associations. The SC program is accredited by the Masters in Psychology and Counseling Accreditation Council (MPCAC) for the period of September 2024 through September 2032. Students enrolled receive instruction to prepare students for licensure in Massachusetts. Requirements: Candidates must be a School Counselor or have a degree in a related field. A doctorate is preferred but master's level counselors with extensive experience will also be considered. It is also preferred that candidates have Massachusetts Licensure as a School Counselor.     General Summary: Reporting to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Principal & Leadership Gifts and Campaign Director, the Major Gifts Officer is primarily responsible for developing managing, implementing, and overseeing strategies for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of approximately 100-150 prospective leadership gift donors. The Major Gifts Officer will create individualized solicitation plans leading to major outright and deferred gifts of $50,000+, integrating unrestricted and restricted gifts, endowment, annual and capital gifts in support of UMass Boston's fund raising priorities. Responsibilities will most significantly include the identification, cultivation and solicitation of new prospects for the University. The Major Gifts Officer will serve as a fundraiser for University-wide targeted initiatives and will work closely with colleagues in University Advancement, Dean's, faculty and senior administrators in developing and implementing key fund-raising strategies and activities. Examples of Duties: * Gain a comprehensive understanding of the priorities of the University and make a persuasive verbal and written case for supporting key programs and projects, effectively matching the interests of prospects to specific University needs; * Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit and steward special and leadership gifts from a managed portfolio of 100-150 prospects and donors with capacity to make gifts of $50,000 and more. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree, Master's preferred and seven-plus years of direct and successful development experience in fundraising, which includes a minimum of five-plus years of special/leadership gift experience, preferably in higher education, with a record of closing major gifts is required. Experience in fundraising at a complex University is preferred. Strong interpersonal skills are required, both written and oral, as well as a high level of sophistication and maturity in social and professional settings. Comprehensive campaign experience is a plus. Incumbent must be able to travel locally and nationally to meet with donors and prospective donors to raise money on behalf of the University.
