POSITION SUMMARY The Director of ICU is a clinically experienced registered professional nurse, who is responsible and accountable for delegating and coordinating the nursing care provided by assigned unit(s). Supports, facilitates, and directs unit staff members in the delivery of high quality, efficient nursing care.
Responsibilities
Demonstrate ability to Maintain and adjust schedule to provide coverage for all shifts including weekends and holidays.Ongoing performance improvement with Core Measures.Work with education department to assist with staff educational needs. Provide ongoing education to staff with unit specific education.Demonstrate ability to communicate with all members of the interdisciplinary team clearly and effectively, while maintaining a positive and professional attitude. Promotes teamwork and maintains effective working relationships within the department, between departments, and outside the hospital.Participate in mandatory meetings.Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy practices in accordance with HIPAA and completes annual competency and safety training as assigned.Demonstrate ability to understand budget and PMR while maintaining a cost-conscious attitude to time usage, materials, and supplies.Demonstrate ability to increase Patient Satisfaction scores per Healthstream reporting.Manage department payroll.Document employee relations issues as necessary and complete disciplinary action as needed per policy working in conjunction with HR.Demonstrate continued improvement and effort in department while increasing employee engagement.Demonstrate the ability to meet or exceed Meaningful Use 2 measures.

Qualifications
Education & Experience Bachelor’s in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing required. Effective 9/1/19 if applicant does not have a BSN – must be enrolled in accredited BSN program with scheduled date of completion.Master’s Degree in Nursing and/or related field, preferred.Minimum of five (or 3-5)years’ clinical nursing experience of which 3 (or 2)years must have been in management capacity.Certification in clinical specialty or nursing administration, preferred.Current RN license or current license deemed acceptable by the applicable State Board of NursingKnowledge, Skills & Abilities Requires strong verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. POSITION SUMMARY The Director of Case Management has overall responsibility for hospital case management, social work, transition management and operational management of the case management department to promote effective utilization of hospital resources, collaboration with healthcare partners for timely and accurate revenue cycle processes, denial prevention, safe and timely patient throughput, and compliance with all state and federal regulations related to case management services.
Responsibilities
Formulate and implement operational strategies and initiatives to meet hospital and Ardent critical indicators including length of stay.Oversight of the facility’s Case Management team to ensure compliance with standards of practice and other regulatory requirements related to care management and social work.Develop and foster effective collaboration between Case Management Departments, Medical Staff, corporate case management and facility leaders to ensure an integrated approach to providing care while fulfilling the hospital's goals and objectives.Display an ability to work effectively within the health system's decision making and organizational structures.Work closely with providers as well as internal and external physician advisors for utilization review and management activities.Coordinate all UM Committee activities to ensure compliance with meeting frequency and documentation of activity and outcomes.Work collaboratively with Revenue Cycle teams and participates in task force meetings related to medical necessity audits and denials.Participate in appeals processes and work collaboratively with vendors to ensure the effectiveness and timeliness of appeals.Analyze length of stay and readmissions data and incorporate measures with Operations team members, Corporate Case Management, and other facility leaders to ensure goals are met.Introduce evidenced based practices geared to improve case management and transitions.Conduct regular staff meetings to review pertinent Federal and State regulatory requirements, emerging internal and external trends, and provide general training for staff
