Purpose: Philadelphia Gear part of the Timken Power Systems group in Santa Fe Springs, CA has a current opening for a Cost and Accounting Analyst position. This position will provide a broad range of accounting activities for the Philadelphia Gear (PG) Western Gear Region - Santa Fe Springs manufacturing location. This position will serve as a source for financial, sales and production performance information and is heavily involved in the monthly accounting closing & reporting process. Other key functions include balance sheet account reconciliations & other monthly Accounting closing reporting validations/controls, internal & external audits, and adherence to Internal Auditing, SOX, Corporate, local & GAAP regulations, including providing management with timely and meaningful reports and thorough analyses of business performance. This position reports to the Controller Key Responsibilities: Ensure timely and accurate completion of monthly accounting closing and annual reporting requirements in compliance with GAAP, standard operating procedures, internal controls/SOX including analyzing and reporting results, and analyze performance variances Facilitate financial reporting, analysis, and validation of fixed assets and capital expenditures including forecasting, budgeting, preparing and tracking Timken capital appropriation requisitions (ARs) or local capital approvals, tracking and processing disposals, and overseeing external property tax, sales and use tax local audits, and internal audits Develop, evaluate, and oversee processes and controls to validate inventory and implement action plans to identify and resolve exceptions. This includes reviewing and validating inventory in stock, work in process, DMR and inspection as well as monitoring annual physical inventories, cycle counts and OSMI reviews Review, analyze, and validate job costing and margins, including timely closing of jobs, troubleshooting, and resolution of exceptions Complete general ledger journal entries into the company's ERP system and account reconciliations in Blackline. This position partners with design engineering to translate NVH insights into practical design changes and deliver quieter, more reliable gear drives for commercial and marine drives. Responsibilities include:- Build and run NVH simulation models of gearbox systems to predict tonal and broadband noise, transmission error, mesh excitation, structural response, and radiated sound.
    - Create clear design recommendations (gearing, micro-geometry, shafts/bearings, housings, isolation, damping, and lubrication-related factors) to achieve noise reduction targets.
    - Develop NVH test plans and procedures to enable correlation, coordinate execution with test teams.
