    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Facility Maintenance Team Member will assist with the daily maintenance of the facility's building and grounds. Position will be geared toward working in various areas throughout the facility and responsibilities including but not limited to events, crowd control and implementing and following facility emergency procedures, safety guidelines and company polices for patrons and employees.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

    Maintain courts, office, and equipment as requiredMonitor for spills throughout the facility and clean as neededClean all floor surfaces and glass in facilityClean, restock, and maintain all bathrooms: toilets, sinks, floors, etc. Clean all guest seating and lobby areaFacility trash removalAssist other departments as necessary Provide courteous and friendly service to all guests with answers and directions as needed Have general knowledge regarding program options and facility eventsOperate multi-line phones as neededBe responsive to guest concerns and direct to appropriate Manager to resolveComplete all other duties as assigned by management

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Function cooperatively with Operations, Facility and Maintenance departmentsWork with contractors as necessaryFollow all manuals, processes and procedures for housekeeping, operations, guest services and maintenance, and maintain OSHA complianceProvide knowledgeable guest service to guests while having awareness of the guest and community needsCommunicate facility maintenance/housekeeping needs to Facilities ManagerUnderstand and carry out facility policies and proceduresAssist with opening/closing facility on a daily basisMaintain overall appearance and cleanliness of the facilityInventory, organize, and stock closets, toolboxes and maintenance areasAssist with cleaning schedule around daily activitiesAssist with building internals (sprinkler systems, HVAC systems, alarm systems, etc.)Assist in utilities management (lights, temperature controls, heaters, etc)Maintain and repair playing surfacesSchedule and perform maintenance on facility equipmentCoordinate with Facilities Manager on facility repairs to avoid conflictsAll other duties as assigned by management

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    Athletic Grounds Maintenance Supervisor

    Job Description

    Under the general supervision of the Parks Maintenance Assistant Director, the Athletic Grounds Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for the care and maintenance of the New Lenox Crossroads Sports Complex and property. Must be able to assist the Parks Maintenance Assistant Director and lead a crew, along with seasonal staff, on projects/special events and other daily tasks to aid the Director of Parks Maintenance to successfully reach the goals and objectives of the Athletic Grounds Maintenance Department.

    Qualifications

    Must be able to uphold and enforce Park District Policies and Procedures, also able to provide work direction and supervision and have a comprehensive understanding of inventory and controls. Must be skilled in operating vehicles, equipment and power tools, perform semi-skilled landscaping care tasks, and be able to apply techniques and use the tools of one or more of these categories: carpentry, plumbing, masonry, electrical work, small equipment repair or welding. Must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or the equivalent, basic computer skills a necessity, valid Illinois Driver's License and a Pesticide Operator or Applicator license. This position also requires CPR, AED, and First Aid certification.

    Pre-requisite:

    Ø 5 years field work experience

    Ø Ability to communicate effectively and keep accurate business records

    Ø Cognitive skills to follow both written and verbal directions

    Ø Manual labor; moderate to heavy lifting

    Ø Ability to work in a diverse climate and environment

    Ø Able to walk long distances (8-10 miles in one day)

    Ø Available to work weekends, holidays, occasional nights (snow plowing), flexible start/end times and occasional overtime

    Ø Experienced in and able to complete projects pertaining to landscaping, construction and general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, welding and carpentry

    Ø Mechanical aptitude in machinery and equipment

    Ø Knowledge/experience of equipment related to synthetic field maintenance

    Ø Knowledge/experience maintain natural grass and synthetic surfaces

    Ø Knowledge of irrigation repairs and maintenance is a plus

    Primary Responsibilities

    This person's duties shall include, but not be limited to:

    Sports Complex:

    Ø Landscaping, irrigation, planting, and installation of sod/seed/trees/erosion blankets, etc

    Ø Layout and maintenance of athletic fields and other site related features

    Ø Performs facility checks, inspects for vandalism and can create project lists

    Ø Cleaning and maintenance of all sites

    Ø Assist with maintaining synthetic surfaces. Ex. Grooming, Drainage, Patch/Plate Repairs

    Ø Prepare all playing surfaces to meet the unique needs of each tournament group

    Ø Complete special projects and daily assignments as directed by the Assist Director of Park Maintenance

    Equipment:

    Ø Operates, monitors, and evaluates all trucks, tractors, and equipment

    Ø Fuel trucks, tractors, gas cans, etc.

    Ø Cleaning and minor repairs and/or adjustments of all equipment

    Ø Coordination and training of facility vehicles

    Budget:

    Ø Monitors supply inventory, in absence of Parks Maintenance Assistant Director

    Ø Purchase and/or transportation of pre-approved products or equipment

    Ø Assists Park Maintenance Assistant Director with vehicles and equipment needs

    Staff Supervision/Training:

    Ø Leads with the supervision and training of less skilled workers

    Ø Leads with daily plan by providing staff with guidance while out in the field

    Ø Promotes safety, use of appropriate gear and follows sound practices to help ensure the safety of staff and park patrons

    Ø Assist when needed, scheduling staff with tasks for the day

    Ø Assign, oversee, and assist Laborer staff in the completion of maintenance tasks

    Payroll:

    Ø Oversees and approves bi-weekly payroll for Athletic Grounds Maintenance staff

    Monthly/Annual Reporting: Ø Assist with End of Month Reports

    Ø Budget Preparation: identifies projects, vehicles and equipment needs

    Community Relations:

    Ø As it pertains to Associations, Parents, Rental Customers, Guests, and Special Events

    POSITION SUMMARY:

    The Facility Maintenance Team Member will assist with the daily maintenance of the facility's building, turf, and grounds.
