Position Summary
The Radiation Therapist is responsible for assisting with the daily patient flow in the clinic and supporting the Radiation Oncologist in delivering prescribed treatments. This position requires technical expertise in operating advanced radiation therapy equipment, ensuring treatment accuracy, and providing exceptional patient care in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Administer prescribed radiation treatments utilizing CyberKnife, TrueBeam, and Gammex HDR systems in conjunction with the Aria Record and Verify platform.Perform patient simulations using the GE Lightspeed Big Bore CT under the supervision and direction of the Radiation Oncologist.Construct custom treatment devices to ensure precision and reproducibility of treatments.Collaborate closely with the on-site Dosimetrist and Medical Physicist to support treatment planning and delivery.Prepare treatment rooms, explain procedures to patients, position patients, and administer therapy while continuously monitoring the patient’s condition.Uphold the highest standards of patient safety, accuracy, and quality of care throughout all procedures.Maintain detailed treatment records in compliance with regulatory and departmental standards.Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited Radiation Therapy program.Current ARRT (T) certification and state licensure (as required).Current BLS certification.Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in radiation therapy preferred (new graduates will be considered).Proficiency in the use of CyberKnife, TrueBeam, Aria, and GE CT systems is highly desirable.Skills & Competencies
