    Join The Spear Group in a high-impact, contract-to-hire opportunity supporting a major utility client.

    This is a hands-on Assistant Project Management role offering strong growth potential, exposure to large-scale utility projects, and direct collaboration with experienced project and field leadership teams. The ideal candidate is organized, eager to learn, and interested in developing a long-term career in utility construction and project management.


    Responsibilities:

    • Support the execution of transmission and substation projects from planning through closeout
    • Assist with project tracking, scheduling, budgeting, reporting, and documentation
    • Coordinate with operations, field leadership, subcontractors, vendors, and utility stakeholders
    • Help support proposals, pricing efforts, and project financial tracking
    • Build strong working relationships with project teams and subcontractor partners
    • Participate in project meetings, status updates, and field coordination activities
    • Contribute to process improvement and project execution standards
    • Support successful project delivery and positive community impact


    Preferred Qualifications:

    • 0–3 years of experience in construction, utility, infrastructure, or project coordination environments
    • Exposure to subcontractors or vendors supporting utility or construction projects is a plus
    • Familiarity with foundation/concrete, matting/access, or civil construction scopes preferred but not required
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
    • Basic financial, estimating, or project tracking experience preferred
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
    • Motivated to learn and grow within a fast-paced utility construction environment

    This is a hands-on Project Controls Specialist role supporting project managers and field teams on large-scale utility construction projects. The position focuses on project coordination, reporting, documentation, scheduling support, and financial tracking to help ensure projects remain organized and on schedule. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and enjoys working in a fast-paced project environment.


    Responsibilities:

    Support project managers with project documentation, reporting, and administrative coordinationMaintain project schedules, trackers, financial logs, and status reportsAssist with work request tracking, invoicing, purchase orders, and budget updatesCoordinate project documentation between field personnel, contractors, vendors, and utility stakeholdersPrepare meeting agendas, capture meeting notes, and follow up on action itemsMonitor project milestones and help identify schedule or documentation gapsMaintain accurate project records and ensure documentation is complete and up to dateAssist with data entry, reporting, and project closeout activitiesSupport project teams with day-to-day coordination to help keep projects moving efficiently

    Preferred Qualifications:
