    RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    Mission, Strategy, and Advisory Board Partnership

    Ensure that The Salvation Army’s mission statement and values actively guide and inform all aspects of local operations, programs, and business decisions, including the integration of spiritual, social, and community-focused services.Partner closely with the County Coordinator to develop and implement annual and multi-year plans that align mission, strategic priorities, and operational capacity across all business and social services lines.Engage and support the local Advisory Board, providing timely, accurate operational and programmatic information; preparing reports and dashboards; and participating in Board and committee meetings to inform decision-making, resource development, community engagement, and advocacy.Represent The Salvation Army in the community with funders, partners, and collaborative bodies as a senior operations leader, helping to advance the organization's mission, reputation, and influence in Southern Nevada.

     

    Operational Leadership and Compliance

    Provide day-to-day leadership and management of local operations, ensuring high-quality, mission-centered service delivery in alignment with territorial/national standards, contracts, and strategic goals.Stay current with trends, regulations, and best practices in social services, housing, behavioral health, and related fields, and proactively recommend operational improvements and program adjustments that enhance service quality while remaining fiscally prudent.Improve, create, and institute operational structures, tools, and reporting systems that increase management efficiency, promote data-informed decision-making, and strengthen contract and regulatory compliance.Maintain close communication with DHQ staff, serving as key interpreter and implementer of policies and approvals, ensuring clear, consistent two-way communication between DHQ and local operations.

     

    Program Development & Funding

    Provide strategic leadership in planning, developing, and implementing initiatives to expand programs, services, and funding in support of The Salvation Army’s ministry in southern Nevada, exercising a high level of discretion and independent judgment on matters of significance.Design and develop new program models, including identifying community and client needs, structuring program components, and securing and stewarding the funding necessary (public, private, and free-for-service) to launch and sustain programs, consistent with organizational priorities and funder requirements.Partner with the Business Administration, Officers and the grant writer to identify, pursue, and manage grants (private and government) and other revenue opportunities that support existing and new programs, ensuring alignment with mission, capacity, and compliance standards.

     

    Business and Administrative Leadership

    Oversee the local Business Department, including the Business Administrator responsible for HR, Finance (local controller and bookkeeper), grants, receptionist, and administrative support, ensuring sound financial controls, effective HR practices, and excellent internal service.Work collaboratively with the Business Administrator to ensure the implementation of effective and efficient methodologies related to recruitment, onboarding, performance management, employee relations, and professional development, to support a stable, value-aligned workforce and compliance with federal and state laws.Ensure that the Business Administrator and finance staff are aligned with organizational goals for budgeting, financial reporting, grant budget monitoring, and audit preparation, ensuring compliance with nonprofit, governmental, and Salvation Army standards and timelines.Maintain compliance with Salvation Army standards by having a high level of accountability related to the Business Administrator’s role in management of property and facilities for the main campus and related program sites, including maintenance planning, capital needs, safety, and regulatory compliance (e.g., health, fire, building codes), and integration of facility planning with long-term program strategy.Ensure systems are in place for staff development, including training, education, and leadership development pathways, in collaboration with HR and program leadership.

     

    Social Services and Program Operations Oversight

    Oversee the Director of Social Services, providing executive-level leadership and accountability across veteran’s services, homeless services, family services, vocational services, and campus and program operations.Ensure that all programs meet contractual, regulatory, and accreditation requirements, including SSVF, community integration programs, grant per diem shelters, rapid rehousing, transitional housing, antitrafficking initiatives, and other funded programs.Support program growth, quality improvement, and data -informed decision-making across shelters, outreach teams, rental assistance, food pantries/warehouses, vocational programs, and satellite offices.Provide executive oversight, through the Social Services Director, of veteran’s programs, including SSVF, community integration, and the three-month grant-per-diem veterans shelter programs and their management teams.Ensure effective operations of homeless services, including multiple shelters, outreach in adjacent communities, and supporting functions such as night supervision, case management, and campus monitoring.Oversee, via Family Services, rental and utility assistance, rapid rehousing, case management programs, food pantry and warehouse operations, food services, two satellite social service and pantry locations, and workforce-development strategies.

     

    People Leadership and Culture

    Build and mentor a high-performing leadership team across business and social services, fostering collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.Promote a culture of respect, equity, trauma-informed practice, and ethical conduct throughout all programs and departments, consistent with The Salvation Army’ mission and values.Champion staff well-being and retention strategies, including clear communication channels, feedback mechanisms, recognition practices, and attention to workload and support

    The Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Center is seeking a Production Assistant (Truck Driver) to complete driving routes for pickup and/or drop off of donations at the warehouse, assigned donation boxes, and at donor homes. 
    Duties:Responsible for the security and safe operation of the vehicle and other assigned equipment. Promptly report, to immediate supervisor, all accidents involving truck, personal injury, or property damage and complete all necessary paperwork.Perform daily walk around inspection of vehicle, checking air, water, oil and other items to maintain equipment in good operating condition. Report any problems immediately to the supervisor.Ensure truck cab and box are clean and personal items are removed daily.You are a personal representative of The Salvation Army.You are therefore to ensure that all customers are treated courteously, donations are accepted or refused appropriately, and the “Manual for Production Assistants” is strictly followed. Any problem in pickups should be reported immediately to the dispatcher. Required to maintain a professional appearance in compliance with company dress code.Maintain complete and accurate records, i.e., delivery manifests, trip log, Green Sheet, etc. Strict adherence to communication procedure.Responsible for loading and unloading of truck assigned and others as requested.     As our enthusiastic and hardworking Store Assistant Manager, you will be responsible for (but not limited to):Takes an active role and partners with the Store Manager in the day-to-day operation of the store. These routines include opening and closing procedures, point of sale operations, inventory management and rotation, ARC merchandising standards (CNO Standards) and donations.Assumes responsibility for all day-to-day store operations (including personnel and cash handling duties) in the absence of the Store Manager.Assists Store Manager to monitor and analyze key performance indicators to drive store sales and increase profitability as projected by budget and goals set by Command Retail Directors and Command Administration.In the absence of Store Manager - Schedule Store Employees to ensure appropriate coverage in store and donation center. Coordinate daily morning and shift change team meetings. Responsible for reviewing and maintaining accurate employee payroll records including daily monitoring of time and attendance edits.Assists Store Manager with the hiring, training and directing the store team to ensure proficiency of processes while also responsible for the development and performance coaching of all store employees.Communicate any personnel issues and performance results with Store Manager. May issue disciplinary warnings, conference reports, employee evaluations, and key performance results as needed in coordination with the Store Manager, HR Generalist and District Sales Manager.Ensuring high levels of Customer and Donor satisfaction through excellent service to meet their needs while also maintaining good Community relations. Develop strategies to improve service to maximize the customer experience.BRP (Back Room Processing) – Supporting the Store Manager to ensure Back Room Processors/Warehouse Associates are working effectively and efficiently meet daily processing goals.Responsible for supervision, support, and conduct reporting of program Beneficiaries if or when Work Therapy Assignments are put in place.Responsible for the protection and security of store currency, inventory, and property. This includes safe funds, bank deposits (including daily logging and completing cash deposits), products for sale, equipment, and building security.The building must be secured during non-operating hours with alarm system arming and alert protocol.Assures that safety measures are established and maintained consistent with ARC policy and governmental regulations, and that safety issues and incidents are reported immediately. Assists Store Manager with conducting and recording mandatory Weekly Store Meetings. Attends ARC Monthly Safety Meetings in Store Managers absence.May transfer or be relocated to other stores based on business needs.Completes all tasks (written or verbal) as assigned by the District Sales Manager, Command Retail Directors and Command Administration.
    Qualifications to be considered for this position:High School Diploma or equivalent.Minimum of 2 years previous Retail Management/Supervisory experience (thrift preferred).Basic understanding of office applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Must hold a valid Driver's license, able to pass MVR report (required), able to show proof of insurance and have access to a motor vehicle.Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.Ability to communicate effectively with management, store employees, customers and donors.
    Physical Demands:Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis.Ability to grasp, push, pull objects such as files, file cabinet drawers, clothing carts, merchandise carts, rolling clothing racks, fixtures, furniture dollies, platform trucks and carts, hand trucks and miscellaneous carts.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.Ability to perform various repetitive motion tasks.
    Pay Rate: $18.40 per hour.

    Schedule:Work schedules are determined by Management and employee must be flexible to always ensure adequate coverage.Full-time employees may be scheduled to work any shift including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
