Provide exemplary leadership to the estimating team ensuring that all estimates, schedules, constructability reviews, value engineering efforts, and purchase planning efforts and documents align with company goals. The position requires coordination, planning and strategizing closely with Preconstruction, Operations, Engineering, Procurement and Business Development teams. Mentor and provide training and development plans to team members and ensure individuals meet and exceed goals. Your expertise in electrical utility preconstruction and ability to manage and lead a team will be key to your success in this role. *Responsibilities:* * Collaboratively develop, lead, and execute winning strategies to meet departmental growth goals. * Ensure scalability of Estimating Department to achieve business growth plans, systems, processes, policies, and team structure. * Lead Estimating team by regularly building and maintaining quality client relationships. * Engage in client’s procurement process, providing support in budgeting, scheduling, and performance requirements for their project needs. * Ensure the quality of estimating services to meet Ryan Company standards of excellence. * Develop and maintain the integrity of the process and standards for estimating activities. * Regularly attend and participate in design meetings and contribute to the development of scope-of-work documents. * Review drawings, specifications, and all other construction documents and communicate issues, accuracy of information and potential risks. Assure that potential risk factors have been evaluated and reviewed with senior management. * Develop a project-specific client management strategy. Manages client expectations and communication based on contract specifications and the needs of the Owner. * Partner with the lead estimator regarding bid strategy decisions, responsible for positioning critical aspects of the project, including partnering with vendors and subcontractors. Oversee bid proposal process, including bid packages, bid documents, and subcontractor solicitation, as well as provide creative client solutions, leading to successful project outcomes. Leads the interview and presentation team strategy and process. * Supports the project hand-off between the bid and construction teams to ensure proper execution of construction plans and client expectations. Supports project management team with client relations during the initial phases of project construction, as needed. Support the Project Management team as required during the construction phase. *Job Requirements:* * Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience. * 10 years of experience of estimating or related role. Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role in electrical preconstruction or equivalent combination of management in estimating and preconstruction. * Experience in preconstruction for large electrical utility projects ranging from $5 to $50MM in value, primarily in Renewable Energy Markets (Solar and BESS) and Substations. * Experience in Estimating and leading an Estimating Department. * Ability to consistently and effectively drive results that meet or exceed company goals * Strong understanding of electrical construction in a large-scale commercial environment * Ability to develop and maintain long-term relationships with clients, CGs, and suppliers/vendors * Knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions and trade practices * Excellent communication skills – the ability to articulate a message, be persuasive, and explain complex information to audiences with varying levels of technical knowledge.
