    San Francisco Rising (SFR) is seeking a full-time Civic Engagement Director to develop and implement SFR’s strategy & vision to lead the organization’s field programs and work closely with the Executive Director to execute our policy agenda. We seek a team player who is excited to provide strategic leadership for campaigns about civic engagement, debt-free college education, grassroots democracy, affordable housing, and more. This role will build out systems and strategies for electoral, policy, and budget campaigns that grow organizers, team leaders and canvassers into active and powerful leaders to win important fights facing working-class communities of color in San Francisco. This role will represent SFR in various regional and statewide power-building organizations.

    The ideal candidate is an effective and experienced organizer who is ready to be a part of a small but mighty team. SFR is a collaborative and supportive work environment, committed to developing the leadership and skills of our staff through coaching, supervision, and intentional staff development opportunities. This position is supervised by the Executive Director. The position is based in the Bay Area and requires in-person office and field work.

    This position may be shared between SF Rising and SF Rising Action Fund. Depending on the time of year and the nature of seasonal campaigns, the position may fluctuate between civic engagement field programs and policy work. The description below gives an estimate of the percentages of workload by area, however it will not be static.

    Responsibilities:

    Civic & Voter Engagement (50%)

    Provide leadership for all SFR field campaigns, including volunteer and paid programs for phone banks, canvasses, and mobilizationsDesign and implement civic engagement field programs in coordination with statewide coalitions, labor partners, or local partnersSupervise a Field Organizer and oversee hiring, supervision, and training of temporary election employees or campaign staffAnalyze data and field program results to track progress in voter contact universes, and evaluate effectiveness of scripts and field program methodologyLeverage innovative voter contact tools and integrate them into the field planDevelop and manage campaign & program budgetsThis may include candidate and ballot measure work related to SF Rising Action Fund, the sister 501c4 organization

    Policy Advocacy & Organizing (30%)

    Policy Research: Work with coalition, policy experts, and government partners to develop model policies and SFR governing agenda/policy platform / campaignsDevelop relationships with key government staff and electeds–and create structures for institutionalizing these relationships, including organizing regular meetings between electeds and the AllianceTrack elected officials’ policy / issue agendas, and what policies are actually moving, and summarize to be able to share with the alliance. Track Board of Supervisors meeting agendas and timeframes for policy and budget priorities and brief Directors, staff, and Alliance partners accordingly.Community education - Support political education & engagement of our affiliates, members, and broader SF community engagement. Develop presentations or educational materials about policy campaigns for staff, leaders, and members as neededIntegrate policy, budget, and governing priorities into SFR coalition partners’ communications strategies, e.g., community/political education opportunities and neighborhood activationMonitor statewide policy efforts related to higher education, college affordability, and debt.

    Base Building (10%)

    Co-lead base-building efforts to grow and engage a multiracial student and adult membership, in alignment with SFR’s strategic goals.Help shape and implement organizing campaigns, training programs, and civic engagement strategies that strengthen member leadership.Represent SFR in key coalition spaces to build alignment and advance collective power in civic and student organizing efforts.

    Organizational Leadership (10%)

    As a member of the Directors Team, help set the strategic direction for the organizationSupport organization-wide activities as needed such as fundraising, events, etc.Cultivate relationships with labor, community, and political alliesSupport funder cultivation, proposal writing, and fundraising for the organizationOther responsibilities as directed by supervisor

    Qualifications

    Commitment to racial, gender, economic and environmental justice, grassroots organizing, and building social movementsMinimum of 3-5 years of relevant experienceMinimum 2-3 years supervision and management experienceExperience facilitating group spaces and leadership developmentExperience leading electoral field campaigns and issue campaignsGrassroots organizing or base building experience highly desiredBilingual in English/Spanish or English/Chinese desired, but not requiredAbility to follow through on tasks in a timely mannerExcellent attention to detailEffective project management skillsStrong written and oral communication skillsStrong computer skills, proficient in Google Suite and Microsoft OfficeDemonstrates a deep commitment to learning and continuous learning for self and others.

    Work Environment/Physical Demands

    Job Summary

    Directs the operations of administrative services across all health system geographic locations. Plays a pivotal role in reporting to and supporting the CEO's office by fostering seamless communication and driving health system priorities. Collaborating closely with the President and CEO to ensure organizational objectives are met. Responsible for strategic thinking, project management expertise, and the ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion.     Job Specific Duties
    Manage communication flow between the Office of the CEO and various health system departments; facilitates efficient information exchange.Manages access and oversees the scheduling of most appointments in collaborating with the Executive Assistant to the CEO. Conducts research, works with key stakeholders to obtain necessary information, prepares briefs and conducts daily briefings to the CEO in order to ensure maximum preparedness for all events, meetings and engagements.Works with the Senior Executive Assistant to ensure the preparation of all executive level presentations and reports are properly prepared, synthesizing complex information into clear and concise formats, and directions.Manages all travel arrangements and reimbursements for the CEO.Supports the CEO in facilitating effective communication across the organization.Partners with a broad range of internal stakeholders and groups, frequently related to matters of immediate concern and coordinates responses.     Job Summary:

    The Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key member of the executive leadership team and is responsible for the strategic oversight and day-to-day management of all facets of DANB’s credentialing activities. This includes oversight application processing, eligibility determination, exam development and delivery, credential issuance, renewal processes, and disciplinary matters. The COO will lead cross-functional teams to ensure excellence and quality in exam development and delivery, credentialing operations, regulatory compliance, and candidate/certificant experience. This role follows a hybrid work arrangement with the majority of time worked remotely with regular in-office requirements in our downtown Chicago office. Periodic travel to events and organizational meetings is expected.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    A. Operational Leadership & Strategy

    Collaborate with the CEO, Leadership Team, and Board of Directors to develop and execute strategic initiatives related to certification growth and innovation including traditional and non-traditional offerings to existing and new customers and partners.Ensure exams and certifications and delivery methods are contemporary, relevant and of high quality to meet current and future workforce needs.Oversee the end-to-end certification process: application intake, eligibility verification, exam development and administration, credential issuance, and renewals.Evaluate and optimize workflows and systems to improve efficiency, accuracy, and customer satisfaction.Lead accreditation and compliance efforts to maintain NCCA and/or other relevant accreditations.

    B. Team Leadership

    Lead, mentor, and develop department managers and staff responsible for exam development, certification operations, and data management.Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and customer service excellence.

    C. Certification Program Oversight

    Lead exam development team and/or manage vendors on all activities including item writing, test blueprinting, psychometric analysis, and collaboration with subject matter experts and test vendors.Ensure fairness, validity, and reliability of all assessments, in alignment with industry standards and best practices.Monitor and analyze certification data trends to inform policy and operational decisions.

    D. Technology & Systems Management

    Oversee the implementation and ongoing optimization of technology platforms used in certification management (e.g., CRM, exam platforms, candidate portals).Partner with IT and vendors to ensure data integrity, cybersecurity, and system performance.

    E. Financial & Compliance Oversight

    Manage departmental budgets and ensure cost-effective operations.Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and accreditation standards governing certification and data privacy.

    F. Stakeholder Engagement

    Serve as a primary liaison to examination committees, psychometricians, and external vendors.Represent the organization at industry meetings, conferences, and stakeholder forums.
