This role is for a healthcare professional who provides basic medical support to children, often alongside a pediatrician or Family Doctor. Their duties include communicating with children of different abilities and developmental levels about their symptoms, talking to patients and their families about medical issues and recording the childs vital signs and lab results.
Responsibilities
Prepare for clinic to include looking at schedule and anticipating patients needs like vaccines, Tier 1 or 2 patient, medications, type of insurance etc.Organize, clean, and prepare exam roomCheck in patients, evaluating their symptoms and checking their vital signsComplete diagnostic testsAdminister vaccines, medications, and minor proceduresCreate a treatment plan or coordinate follow-up medical careEducate family members on treatment optionsProvide phone triage for patients that includes addressing issues, scheduling patients and routing encounter to appropriate Provider poolCoordinate care as a care team with Provider they are assigned toManage Provider patient schedule, while providing guidance to Front Desk staff for patient scheduling needsProvide all care to patients as needed and in assistance to ProviderAttend Clinical and Quality Improvement MeetingsOther clinical tasks as assignedQualifications
Currently licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in OregonPrevious experience as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse is preferredExcellent interpersonal and client care skillsFirst aid/CPR certification required
