    Position Summary

    The K-8 Special Education Teacher provides individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities in grades kindergarten through eighth grade. This role ensures compliance with IDEA and state requirements while fostering inclusive, supportive learning environments that promote academic growth, social-emotional development, and independence.

    Key Responsibilities

    Provide specialized instruction aligned with students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
    Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals and accommodations
    Collect and analyze student data to inform instruction and progress monitoring
    Collaborate with general education teachers to support inclusion and differentiation
    Participate in and lead IEP meetings, ensuring parent and team engagement
    Implement evidence-based instructional and behavioral strategies
    Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
    Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress
    Work collaboratively with related service providers (SLP, OT, PT, school psychologist, social worker)
    Support positive behavior interventions and MTSS frameworks
    Participate in professional development and staff meetings

    Required Qualifications

    Valid State Special Education Teaching Certificate (K-8 or equivalent)
    Bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field
    Knowledge of IDEA, IEP development, and compliance requirements
    Strong classroom management and instructional skills
    Ability to collaborate effectively with staff and families

    Preferred Qualifications

    Master's degree in Special Education
    Experience with inclusive practices and co-teaching
    Familiarity with data-based decision making and progress monitoring tools
    Experience serving students with diverse learning needs (ASD, SLD, EBD, etc.)

    Salary: Based on experience and certification $50,000
