    The Nemecek Firm, Ltd. is seeking a highly motivated Law Clerk to join its growing practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for helping immigrants. The ability to multi-task and handle a heavy case load, work with paralegals, and meet deadlines is a must. Strong writing and organizational skills are also essential to the success of the role.     Job Duties:


    Draft immigration forms, pleadings, motions, briefs and legal memoranda for review by the firms licensed attorneys;Verify that all applications, evidentiary files, and other legal documentation are properly organized;Meet with clients to review and finalize testimonial statements and applications for immigration benefits; collect evidence and prepare for trialMeet with clients to collect, review and prepare evidentiary filings;Coordinate attorney-client meetings and schedule critical meetings;Assist attorneys with trial preparation, including drafting direct examinations and closing arguments;Facilitate communicate with clients, staff, third-party evaluators and expert witnesses;Review petitions, motions, pleadings and court decisions to identify potential issues impacting relief;Research laws, policies, court decisions, documents, opinions, briefs, or other information related to cases before the court or administrative agencies;Keep abreast of changes in the immigration laws and policies and keep attorneys apprised of changes;Confer with attorneys to concerning legal issues and questions from clients requiring legal advice;Attend and observe courts hearings and take detailed notes;Review dockets of pending litigation to ensure adequate progress;Enter client information into internal spreadsheets and case management systems;Verify that all applications, evidentiary files, and other legal documentation are properly organized; and,Work with law students, legal assistants and outside professionals such as interpreters, country condition experts and medical evaluators.Job Requirements:

    The Law Clerk position at The Nemecek Firm requires a minimum of a Master of Laws degree (LLM) or Juris Doctor degree (JD) from an accredited U.S. college or university.

    The paralegal will assist attorney(s) in the preparation and filing of immigration applications. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing skills and a strong passion for helping immigrants. Proficiency in Spanish and English is required.

    Key job duties include:

    Communicating with clients and third parties to obtain documents.Reviewing documents from clients.Drafting forms and legal documents for attorney review.Tracking tasks and managing deadlines.Learning and understanding immigration processes.Requirements:

    Bachelors degree in English, Political Science, or a related field plus at least 1 year of office experience is preferred.Fluency in English at a native level.Proficiency in a foreign language is a plus, ideally, Spanish or French.Strong writing and organization skills.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.Able to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environmentJob Type: Full-time
