    Position Summary:

    Guest Services Explorers are primarily responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, organized, and show-ready environment throughout the Aquarium. The majority of each shift is spent cleaning, sanitizing, stocking, inspecting, organizing, and maintaining guest-facing and operational spaces to ensure they consistently meet Aquarium presentation, safety, and cleanliness standards.


    This position supports a wide variety of public and operational areas, including galleries, restrooms, lobbies, vestibules, the Rio Tinto Kennecott Plaza, Welcome Center, parking lot, dock area, stage and play areas, and other assigned spaces. Guest Services Explorers respond to spills and sanitation concerns, maintain restroom and facility cleanliness, receive and organize deliveries, support emergency procedures, and help ensure all assigned areas remain clean, safe, organized, and ready for guests throughout the day. Guest interaction and operational support are important components of the role; however, facility cleanliness and show-readiness are the primary responsibilities.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    Spends the majority of each shift cleaning, sanitizing, stocking, inspecting, organizing, and maintaining Aquarium facilities to ensure all assigned areas remain clean, safe, and show-ready for guests at all timesProvides exceptional internal and external guest service according to established guidelinesConducts routine cleanliness inspections and maintenance in restrooms, galleries, lobbies, vestibules, theatre areas, parking lots, Plaza, Welcome Center, dock area, play areas, and other public or assigned operational spacesKeeps the dock area clean, organized, accessible, and free of clutter or safety hazardsReceives and organizes incoming packages, notifies appropriate departments of arrivals, maintains orderly receiving areas, and reports delivery concerns, damaged packages, misplaced items, or pickup issues as neededPerforms hourly restroom inspections, restocking, sanitation, and documentation proceduresUses safe restroom closure procedures when deep cleaning is requiredResponds promptly to spills using approved cleanup procedures, proper equipment, and required safety signageUses approved cleaning products, dilution procedures, and personal protective equipment in accordance with Aquarium safety standardsReads and follows product labels, SDS guidance, chemical handling requirements, and surface-specific cleaning proceduresMaintains cleaning carts, supply closets, restroom inventories, and operational supplies needed to support cleanliness and guest readinessCollects, launders, and returns cleaning rags according to established schedulesEmpties interior and exterior trash and recycling receptacles before overflow and transports waste to designated disposal locations using approved equipmentPerforms Plaza and Welcome Center upkeep, including woodchip inspections, raking woodchips into safety zones, resetting furniture, sweeping debris, removing fingerprints, and maintaining guest-ready conditionsMaintains stage and play areas by sanitizing surfaces, cleaning bird droppings as needed, resetting furniture, and addressing debris or safety concernsAssists with Tuki's and exhibit window cleaning as assignedPerforms final cleaning, sanitation, and readiness inspections of guest seating areas and other assigned closing areasFollows Triple P procedures for bodily fluids and other sanitation-related incidentsAssists with Code Nemo/Marlin searches, evacuations, crowd management, and other guest safety or emergency procedures as assignedSupports evacuations by clearing restrooms, assisting guests, and helping direct traffic as neededMonitors assigned areas for safety, cleanliness, and security concerns and reports issues to supervisorsMay assist with guest admissions activities, including scanning or counting guests, when neededCommunicates clearly with supervisors and team members regarding area status, cleaning completion, supply needs, safety concerns, package deliveries, and guest issuesOther duties as assigned


    Physical Demands of the Job:

    Scope of Position

    Schedule includes weekends, evenings, holidays, and special event rotations, excluding Thanksgiving Day and Christmas DayThis position is primarily custodial and facility-readiness focused, with most scheduled hours dedicated to cleaning and maintaining show-ready conditions throughout the AquariumMay be required to work beyond scheduled hours based on guest attendance, special events, operational needs, weather conditions, deliveries, or staffing levelsMay assist with crowd management during peak attendance periods or special events

    Position Summary:

    Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Development serves as the Aquarium's leader for all philanthropic fundraising activities. This position is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive fundraising strategy that supports the Aquarium's mission, strategic priorities, capital initiatives, and long-term financial sustainability.

    The Director of Development leads all charitable revenue generation, including major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, grants, foundations, donor stewardship, and capital campaigns. Working closely with the CEO, COO, Board of Directors, and Development Committee, this position cultivates meaningful donor relationships while building a scalable, data-driven development program that supports continued organizational growth.

    The Director of Development is expected to be both a strategic leader and an active fundraiser, maintaining a personal portfolio of major donors while creating systems and processes that strengthen the Aquarium's overall fundraising capacity.

    Qualifications:

    Position Summary:

    The Event Educator’s role is critical to delivering our mission. An Educator’s primary responsibility is

    to enhance the guest experience with high quality interpretive experiences throughout our galleries

    and education spaces. Educators will interact with Loveland Living Planet Aquarium (LLPA) visitors of

    all ages and backgrounds to provide inspiring personal engagements and activities or more formal

    presentations, demonstrations and learning stations. Event Educators also have the option to be

    trained on additional onsite and offsite science education programs delivered by our Aquarium

    Educators.

    Event Educators report directly to Education Managers. Educators collaborate with assistant

    managers, managers, and their peer educators to improve interpretation skills and techniques.

    Educators are required to provide a variety of learning and engagement opportunities for Aquarium

    guests to enhance their visit.

    Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma

    • At least 18 years of age

    • Associate’s or bachelor's degree in biology, zoology, marine science, environmental science,

    education, or a related field is preferred

    • Experience interacting with children, small groups and/or large audiences, and the ability to

    adapt programs to audience age level and size is required

    • Experience working in a similar guest-related industry such as hospitality, performing arts,

    teaching, or zoo/aquarium and museum interpretation preferred

Candidates with a suitable combined equivalent of education and hands-on experience will be considered.4+ years of paid experience in the field of ambassador animal care at a zoological facility.Experience with the husbandry and care of bird of prey species, ideally in a show setting.

    This role offers a unique opportunity for a zoo or aquarium veterinarian seeking a substantial terrestrial caseload alongside an expansive collection of aquatic animals. The Clinical Veterinarian will provide comprehensive preventive, diagnostic, medical, surgical, and emergency care for species ranging from big cats, penguins, to large sharks and teleosts.

    Working collaboratively with the Vice President of Zoological Operations, veterinary team, and animal care professionals, the Clinical Veterinarian contributes to individual animal care, population health management, animal welfare initiatives, and evidence-based husbandry practices across the collection.

    Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:

    Supports LLPA’s Veterinary Services Department and Zoological Operations Team through primary clinical case management utilizing best practices in medical, surgical, and diagnostic techniques. Provides routine and emergency veterinary medical care during regular work hours and shares on-call and weekend coverage responsibilities. Provides guidance and input for animal care initiative such as welfare, nutrition, enrichment, training, habitat design, and other areas of subject matter expertise. Supports diagnostic necropsy, sample collection, and interpretation of results. Meets standards and regulations for DEA, AZA, AAZV, USDA, OSHA, and other local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and associations as they apply to zoological institutions and veterinary programs/facilities (i.e. animal care, transport, treatment, and the handling of controlled substances). Maintains animal medical records using ZIMS (electronic, cloud-based program) and communicates with staff regarding planned and provided care. Contributes to and participates in on-going training for veterinary and animal husbandry staff, as well as mentorship of veterinary and veterinary technician student externs. Participates in internal meetings to support clinical case review, animal transactions, animal welfare, and scientific research.     Critical Skills/Competencies:

    Minimum of 2 years post-graduate clinical experience. Minimum 1 year of zoological or exotic animal experience or specialty internship residency training. Knowledge of the husbandry and veterinary needs of a wide range of mammalian, avian, reptilian, and aquatic species. Experience utilizing digital radiography, ultrasound, and rigid and flexible endoscopy for collection of minimally invasive diagnostic information. Experience with sedation and anesthesia of a wide range of species, including aquatic immersion and remote immobilization.

    Qualifications:

    DVM or VMD from an AVMA-accredited institution. Must have or be able to obtain a valid state veterinary license and controlled substance certificate, DEA controlled substance registration certificate, and USDA Category II accreditation. Must have or be able to obtain a State of Utah driver’s license within 3 months of starting, and be eligible to drive company vehicles.

    Physical Demands of the Job:

    This position requires periods of standing and walking as well as extended periods of sitting with technology systems and reporting. The role will primarily be within an attraction environment.Must be able to provide veterinary care and assessments in a variety of exhibit and non-exhibit settings.     Position Summary:

    This position is for an entry-level technician responsible for monitoring and maintaining all of the equipment and infrastructure that is associated with live animal exhibits.     The Education Manager evaluates current education programs for impact, engagement, and results. This includes ensuring that programs achieve LLPA mission goals, comply with LLPA policy, increase guest engagement and satisfaction, stay within budget and that school programs are aligned with Utah Core Curriculum.

    The Education Manager is responsible for interviewing, onboarding, training, mentoring, and evaluating the performance of Assistant Education Managers and Aquarium Educators.
