Position Summary
The Restaurant Host is responsible for creating a welcoming environment for guests, managing reservations, and ensuring smooth guest flow. As the first and last point of contact, the Host plays a vital role in delivering exceptional customer service and maintaining the overall efficiency of the restaurant.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following:
Greet guests warmly upon arrival and thank them as they leave.Manage reservations and walk-ins using Toast Tables.Maintain an organized and accurate waitlist during peak hours.Coordinate with servers and bussers to optimize table seating.Answer questions about menu items, restaurant policies, and wait times.Answer phone calls and assist callers with reservations, and general questions.Monitor and restock host station supplies, including menus and promotional materials.Assist in light cleaning tasks, including cleaning menu covers.Communicate effectively with the Operations Manager and other staff to ensure smooth operations.Perform other duties as directed.
Minimum Qualifications
Previous hosting experience required, fine dining experience preferred.CA Food Handler certification required (or ability to obtain prior to starting).Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to handle busy shifts in a calm and professional manner.Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
